New vehicle

Just put on the 6112 5160 with heavy springs up front and 1 bilstein inch heavy springs in the rear with icon uca.
Started with my 2023 TRD ORP with 2500 miles. Although being still new it feels like a new vehicle again but maybe the harshness of a 3/4 ton version. I'm assuming the ride will soften a bit when I get the weight of the rest of my armor put on.

 

Once you add the weight it should act right.

Out of curiosity. What weight are you adding and what spring rate front/rear is your current setup?

 

C4 Front bumper full set C4 skids sherpa roof rack, cali raised mollie with both shelves in the rear and eventually, when I feel like dropping the cash for a hitch mount swing out tire carrier.

I bought the set up from Shock Surplus it was the 6112 5160 with the clips set at 2.5 inch on the front. For the springs all I know is they're the heavy springs thats how they are described on the web site. Talked with their reps a few times and told them what i was going for and they helped me put it together.. Got an actual 2.75 inch in the front and 1.25 in the rear

 

Sounds like a familiar setup. The C4 lo profile bumper really doesn't add much weight on it's own. Are you adding a winch as well?

 

Yeah I've got the warn Evo 10, wish I would have got the 12 they were only 50$ more at the time. The c4 bumper is actually a lot heavier than I thought it was going to be. I am old and not as stout as I used to be lol. Might be adding the sides at some point but I kind of fond of the full front and I'm probably not going to be doing anything too demanding, mostly overlanding.

For reference
C4 Low pro Bumper weight: 75lbs
Winch weight: 75lbs
Removed factory crash bar and plastic: -20lbs

So you're looking at 130# of bumper weight.
Plus skids and (Sliders?) it'll be a bit on the heavy side but not bad.

I will say it will smooth out as you add weight. It may be unpleasant until then.
If you find what spring rate the "heavy" springs are I'd be curious to know!

 

It's not unpleasant now just a bit stiff I guess I would say, it rides a lot better than my daughters 2024 3/4 ton chevy z71. I'm sure it will soften quite a bit I just got these insta)ed last week plus added the 285 70 17 Ko3's.
Did you get the bull bar on your bumper? I got the tall one.

 

Yeah high bull bar option. No side additions for now but I did trim the bumper for clearance.
