BLUETOOTH VOLUME

Good Day. I have a question about BLUETOOTH VOLUME in general. To have my volume louder in my 4Runner, I must almost max out the volume control on my phone. When I connect via USB, I do not have to use the phone volume. Can someone please explain why this is? Thank you.

 

I think the idea behind this is you can control everything without using your phone so you're less likely to cause an accident using your phone. It's less to control. Easier.

When you use blue tooth the phone doesn't know it's connected to a car. Could be head phones or sonething so you would be controlling from your phone in a safe environment. Also it might be connected to something without a volume control or one that's less convenient to use than your phone.

 

In my iphone, under settings > sounds and haptics>headphones safety. You can turn that off

 

I'm sure android has a setting somewhere too

 

yeah my android phone has asked me if I want to turn off or on driving mode, so I'm sure it's aware

 

Ya know, I was goofing around with Carista recently on my new (to me) T4R, and one of the options under "Instruments: Displays & Nav" is "Speaker Volume", with settings from 1-14. Having just sold my Tundra before buying this T4R, I was very surprised to hear how loud the stereo would play in the new vehicle. Not sure if perhaps raising that number in your configurable settings might help your situation? Just a thought.

 

So some good answers here from the 4R folks, but besides Bluetooth and USB being digital audio - Bluetooth is more compressed in order to transmit wirelessly, and typically provides the lowest volume gain. As for the volume control of these two sources, the answer may be a fixed versus variable situation. But I can’t seem to find that answer on “Lougle”
