I have been running the Morimoto Gen 2's on my 21, for several months now.
In my experience, they are brighter and have a better beam pattern than the stock LED's they replaced.
The brights are almost as bright as the replacement HB LED bulbs I had in the stock housings (honestly those were too bright for the road), plenty bright.
They are pricey but performance is great and the DRL is almost bright enough to drive with at night.
Personally I did not like the look of the Alpha Rex and saw too many folks with issues.

Do you have any issues with the fit or the installation? Someone mentioned the wiring was a pain

I went Alpharex Nova Mk2 because I like the look over the Morimoto option but I have been lazy so they have been in the box for almost a year now. From what I gather, all the aftermarket options suck. I do see more Morimoto issues than Alpharex.

If they are no good I think I will go OEM LED or LEDs in stock halogen housings. The housings on my 19 look bad already.

These are the most perfect conflicting opinions I've ever seen within the same thread.

Is it true that if you change out the head lights you have to take the whole grill and bumper off? I was thinking about new headlights but I’m not about to do all this work when the current ones work fine and they are to expensive for my wallet. Besides the fact that I bought the 4 Runner and the wife is the one driving it all the time. You can call me a weekend driver. Lol

True, but it sounds more stressful than it really is.

I have seen people just release the top section and let it hang out. It’s not all that bad to do since it’s just basically a plastic cover.

It is "possible." I replaced a headlight without removing the bumper. I have a C4 Low profile bumper and winch so removing the bumper cover can be pain.

Unclipping the side of the bumper to access all the bolts and fishing the headlight out/ in risks damage to the bumper or fender.
Its much easier to remove the bumper cover. Especially if you don't have a winch/ steel bumper to deal with.
The whole thing comes off with just a few bolts and some clips.
