That is one of my favorite mods! Seems completely useless but when you're 42 and your kid wants light in the back while you're driving to go camping etc or wheeling in to a new camp spot It is invaluable to keep your night vision!!!! Saves the fights as well! Haha.

Went up to visit some dear friends over the weekend. Tell me, how could this possibly happen considering where I am parked, in a rural country town, on a road infrequently traveled.

    parked.jpg parked2.jpg parked3.jpg

My buddy and me spent 30 mins prying back the sheet metal enough so that I could make the +200 mile drive back home. The plastic bumper almost popped out almost 100%. Not worried about insurance cause new bumpers are being fabricated and the plastic will be trimmed back to just under the factory fogs...

Installed my DD SS3 Amber Sport fogs lights. Had to do it twice because I wasn't paying attention to the slots the bracket slide into in the inside.

My auto light sensor arrives tomorrow. :)

Did a 60k mile service... Oil, diffs, txfr case, ATF, rear brakes, got all the rocks out of the skids, greased all joints, fluid top offs, tire rotation, then added meso hatch lights, all time USB charging port. A transmission jack is The ticket for installing steel skids by yourself! Now I'm looking at Waze to run air conditioning to my bird dog in the crate in the back. I might pull from the floor air conditioner all the way to the back of the crate.

Blacked out badges, window deflectors, smoked 3rd brake light. I have a Borla muffler on order as well as some color matched engine cover stickers. I'll be painting the stock wheels soon as well. Falken tires in the fall as well.

Finally got my hands on a Pro exhaust so I can modify the side exit pipe to work on the stock exhaust. Not sure how soon I'll get it done but at least I have it in hand now. Will be doing an oil change, as well as a much needed cleaning inside and out

    @wax poetic
    Zero knowledge on this
But I’ve seen the modified side exhaust or people who cut it short since it was in the way/already bashed up
Any reason to use/start with the pro exhaust VS going to a muffler shop, etc?
Already designed to exit via the side?

    That sucks.

Looks like someone backed into it, IMO. Was there a driveway across the street? If not, somebody probably decided to turn around right where you were parked and nudged into your front bumper with their rear.

I can't speak for everyone, only me. And FWIW I can totally see this as a waste of money as it is mostly for looks and maybe to help a bit with taking fumes in the rear window when it's open and my dog is back there. I believe that last part is debated so I don't know if it's true or not.

For me, I was looking specifically for the rear section of the pro exhaust for the reasons above AND it is the only way to get the black trd tip (although the sombrero is available separately). Is this the most cost effective way to have a side exit ... definitely not. Is it worth it? Most likely not.

    I hope this helps.

For anyone in DFW Tread Depot is great shop. Can't say enough good things about them and specializing in Toyotas. I have seen their work on suspension, regear, welding, bumpers, lighting, winches.......they are your 1 stop off road shop. I don't trust anyone else with the rig.

    4.56 regear next week.

    Whoa! That's crazy.

Time to start putting clips on the top, although they might have not done a damn thing.

    Wonder how that happened??

The dealership replaced my pads a couple weeks ago so I honestly have no idea how it happened. Probably a lazy reinstall. As a personal rule, i dont work on my brakes cause im a novice and it would be really dangerous if I screwed it up.

Did you buy this from 80% off-road and have Tread Depot install the entire thing? Their work looks GREAT!

Yes I ordered from 80% and had Tread Depot weld it up. I cant weld and have seen Chayton's welding skills with their BMC's. Really happy with this job. Everyone I know that uses them praises what a solid shop they are. Guess I shouldn't be surprised people travel out of town to have them work on their rigs.

I live in OKC and I have been looking at the 80% off-road bash bar. I have done a few projects with my grandpa and welding but if I can get it from a shop it might be worth a trip down to Dallas. If you don't mind me asking how much and how long?
