Here's better pics with the sun at my back.

I like the heritage grille but that's so overdone by people. I like the black up the middle look as it calls up the early 5th gen Trail models which IMO are the best looking 5th gens.

It's not far enough off to be a big deal but it's far enough off to annoy me. I might run it for a few days and see if it grows on me.

IMG_0641.jpg IMG_0640.jpg Hey folks, I got my first rock chip on my paint, dead center of my rear driver side door. Do I dare order the Solar Octane touch up paint pen, use clear nail polish, or just leave it. I’m not happy with it obviously but I’d rather dab clear polish to prevent rust rather than screw up by trying to use the paint pen. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

This product might be worth looking into.
I’ve never used it but it could be the answer for your chip.

Drcolorchip was the one I had heard gets the best results. They do have you check a box stating you are aware it’s a single ply process where as the original paint is a 3 ply process. I bet it will still be better than anything else on the market.

New to forum, got my Solar Octane 2024 TRD ORP in March, traded in ‘22 Highlander hybrid for it definitely don’t miss that battery on wheels lol. Put Fuel Oxide 17x8.5” rims gunmetal/black +1 offset with stock tires so far. Also removed the TRD ORP/4Runner badges and painted the Toyota symbols/chrome bars satin black.

Keeping the smooth top and having it wrapped satin black. I don’t need a roof rack and prefer it this way. Another option is I will put it back on after the wrap.

I’m split down the middle on it but personally I’d leave it original. Especially since the black isn’t an exact match.

Are you referring to the grille cross piece not matching the black valance or the valance not matching existing black trim?

It all looks more matched in person (valance to cross piece). I installed it and evaluated it for a week. Asked a few guys I work with who are car guys and one guy who I'm pretty sure has OCD; they all agreed it's not a match if you look closely, but it looks fine and in any case looks better than the solar octane colored cross piece and the silver valance. As the OCD guy pointed out - if you take a look at the various OEM black trim pieces, wheels, etc; none of them exactly match from the factory, so this kind of blends in to that mismatch.

Here's bone stock versus the current setup with the black valance and cross piece and the chrome blacked out (which is yet another shade of black):

Ultimately I decided to keep it like this. It looks okay enough to my eye and better than before. You guys are going to hate me but I really don't love the solar octane color and this kind of mutes it just a tad....

Yes I used Toyota oem roof rack delete kit. Also they are only steps Tyger brand but love them. Prevent door dings and the bed liner finish is awesome on them. This is my 2nd set. Had them on my 20 Pro.

I was referring to the grill cross piece, but I am a fan of the SO. I actually had to look at my front end this AM because I forgot what it looked like. I guess the Black does look “OK” (TRD Pro)

Thank you! My wife has driven her 2015 SR5 since she got it brand new and I've always felt it could use a little more power, so I ponied up (heh) and got the supercharger. It certainly makes it easier to pass trucks on the brief uphill passing lanes here in CO.

Got lift install Bilstein 5100s @ 1.75” Front and Dobinson C59-599 rear coils for 1.5” Rear. Haven’t measured difference from stock height yet was giving it some time to settle. Drives so much better than stock, less body roll and nose dive. Might push to 2.5” Front yet with Dobinson coils. I still want some rake for kids, dogs, cargo and towing lol

Picked up my 2024 Solar Octane Off Road almost 2 weeks ago. After a couple weeks of reinstalling parts from my old 4R this is where it sits so far.

    Hi Everyone,

This is my 4th runner since 2016 two ORP and two Pros. With a tundra and a rivian in between. This color is addicting and I plan on holding on to it for the foreseeable future. Threw on some Baja Boss ATs and method 707s today. Eibach pro coils go on in about two weeks! I will say I am quite shocked how little they rub on a stock pro for being 285s on 0 offset!

Which Eibach coils are you adding? 21-22 or 23-24 springs?

I decided to go with the 21-22 the 23-24 seems like overkill to me.

That looks great! If I recall, the OEM heritage grill horizontal piece doesn’t exactly match the shinier black valence on the Pros either.

My detail shop knows I’m a bit OCD so to address this mismatch, when getting mine PPFed, the shop used a matte clear PPF over the shinier black valence to dull it out a bit and regular clear PPF on everything else.

This isn’t some cheap wrap material that will chip but rather thick protective film that can also change the appearance of the area it’s protecting (if not regular clear). Came out really good on mine and you don’t even notice it’s on any panel unless you start hunting for edges in certain areas very close up.

Might be an easy fix for you to throw some matte clear PPF just on the valence.
