I'd probably do the black or clear Fluid Film, but probably any of those will do.

My ex-MIL said same thing. Used to make me chuckle. They were from the Dayton, Ohio area. But in return, she'd get mad at me for saying "yes/no ma'am."

Cali raised cat shields on today. Super easy install. There is a lot of area which I feel should have been covered. Also the spacers should be longer, as the plates bottom out on the frame too early.

Installed my RCI Transmission Skid with the Catalytic guards. Piece of mid for catalytic protections, or at least a deterrent. Got the engine skid plate and filler plate Very happy with RCI.

I put these on my 4R and Tacoma this weekend.
For the 4R, I was interested in this option for several reasons above others:
    1. price
    2. Stainless steel material (heavy gauge too)
    3. No drilling, etc
    4. they do NOT need to be removed for typical maintenance

After installing - these are the things I didn't like:
    1. spacers are aluminum (I don't know if they are anodized) but aluminum right up against stainless is probably not a good recipe
    2. zinc washers for stainless security bolts.........why not stainless?
    3. Grade 8 replacement frame mounting hardware............so, why not 10.9 metric?
    4. My rubber "bumper" did not line up well with the frame on one side.

I used stainless spacers and washers, along with metric hardware for the frame support bolts. I just feel better about that. For the bumper that did not line up, I milled down one of the spacers so I could get better alignment.

I am happy with them as a theft deterrent.

Regarding the spacer length, I did use slightly longer spacers for mine - but only about .5mm or so. I believe the included spacers are 3/8" aluminum and I used 10mm stainless.

If it makes you feel any better about the spacer length, Cali Raised does not include ANY spacers with the Tacoma shields! The recess in the frame on the Tacoma is smaller, but still should have spacers. I ended up using my own stainless spacers for that application, too.

Great product, but just a little short on perfect execution. Still my 1st choice of the available options, even if I spent a lot more time and money on them with the mods.

Probably said this initially, but it was the first and only aftermarket head unit I've had that I actually loved. I miss mine most every day and wish I had pulled it from the 2nd vehicle it ended up in. Not sure I put that into my initial comments, but it was one of the things I HAD to have from my Tacoma when I totaled it. I remember packing tools up to take with me to the impound lot and being absolutely sure I had what I needed to remove it. It ended up in my Jeep after that and sold it with the Jeep. Oh well.

Someday I'll probably get another one, as I don't think anyone else has come out with anything equivalent to it. Not even the JVC sister-model does anything for me.

If you haven't hooked a front camera to it, I highly recommend. The headunit will turn it on automatically when your speed drops. It was small things like that that made me love it.

Hand waxed and buffed the roof and hood of my 3 week old 4Runner. It sleeps outside in my driveway nightly. Amazing how much crap there was on the 4Runner roof. Someone commented on the thickness of the metal on the 4Runner. Found 2 mall scratches!
I found it to be a little lighter gauge it seems than my 06 Tacoma. Waxed up nicely. Looking on Amazon for a roof and hood cover rather than a full cover. Why? Hell if I know!

I'm sorry you no longer have it, hopefully again one day or maybe even a newer / better one down the road.

Definitely going to have a front cam if for no other reason to have when cresting hills and stuff 4 wheeling. I was doing that one time and if I didn't have sliders my doors would need replacing. It's definitely on the list of things to do.

Changed the oil and the filter. Used Mobil 1 high mileage and OEM filter. I think I did it after 6500 miles.
The best thing is , if you change your own oil , then the drain plug and the filter take no time to come out. Infact I only hand tighten the oil filter.
I added 6.6qt and it's a smidge over the top dot on the dip stick. I am sure driving in this Texas heat will burn it out soon.
These skid plates are a pain though.

Blacked out badges, window deflectors, smoked 3rd brake light. I have a Borla muffler on order as well as some color matched engine cover stickers. I'll be painting the stock wheels soon as well. Falken tires in the fall as well.
I wouldn't worry about the tiny bit of extra oil. Interesting video here.

Spoiled the new 4Runner this weekend... Pulled the trigger on the following items:
    1) Accessorides Remote Start (Non-Takeover Version). I did not get the 1000-ft or 2000-ft range fobs and will use the OEM range
    2) FitCamX Dashcams (front and rear) / also ordered the Etsy 3D printed mount for the rear camera
    3) Anytime Camera (Cali-Raised)
    4) AJT Key Fob (Black)

Looking forward to getting all these electronics installed. Any other cool electronic gadgets that are popular on the forum? I want to upgrade my stereo eventually, but it isn't high priority at the moment. Up next on the list is Dog Proofing stuff for our new puppy.

I made a mental note of this when I saw it. Finally got around to it. Can't believe how easy it was, and that they put the wire right there but didn't include the sensor from the factory!!

Tyger steps. Love them. Second set I have had. Had them on my 20 Pro and now on my 23. You cannot beat the price and the finish on them is really good. Plus great for door dings.
