Greetings- I come to this forum as a Toyota Tacoma Pre-runner owner for 10 years. I am ready for a new Toyota , and I have my heart set on the 4-runner. Now, here comes the BIGGG QUESTION: I have to decide between a 24’ and a 25’ 4-runner. I have never owned a hybrid or EV, but I am interested in the advantages and tech going forward. I am very familiar with a V6, and I have uncertainties towards changing to a hybrid at this stage/time. Please, if you would, offer me whatever opinion or advice you could toward purchasing either a 24’ or 25’ 4-runner.

I live southern CA, don’t do off roading, I am considering either the limited or TRD pro trim. Thanks-

Here’s a few facts not opinions, the 2025 will be considerably more expensive than the current gen especially a pro. Current 4Runner pro is about 55k before tax and fees, I’d expect 5 to 10k increase in prices for the pro

more of an opinion but I would wait a year or two to get the new generation if that’s what you want, the brand new 2024 Tacoma is having major transmission issues (same engine and transmission which will go into the new 4Runner)

2024. Id be worried about new model year glitches. I have 2024, if 6th gen is something I really like and theyve worked out issues i can trade in 3-5 years or longer. If i dont like it I still have my 24. Only draw back is 24 mpg ist the best and not most peppy

so if you really want a 25 with maybe 4-5 more mpg and more peppy thats a gamble you may have to take

I looked into a new Tacoma today. I guess its the same interior? It has about as much room inside it as my 2014 Corolla?
