Hot as hell in Tennessee and need to protect my leather interior as much as possible.

Anybody have good recommendations for sunguards? Thanks in advance!

I agree with the ceramic film. I have it on all windows. I notice the difference when driving and the sun is on me.

I also have the Full Vehicle Kit version of the WeatherTech sunshields: https://www.weathertech.com/toyota/2023/4runner/sunshade/

My car is parked facing south at work, so I don't need to install the sunshield in the hatch, but I do cover all the other windows.

Ceramic tint actually makes a good bit of difference. On top of that I use the HeatShield front windshield covers. I had a Costco cheapo shade before, and yes it worked, but the HeatShield works better. And it better, its more expensive.

I also suggest XPEL ceramic windshield tint,
I drove a dealer loaner 4Runner with just the cheap dealer tint on the front doors, and could tell a lot of difference...even after parking the car in the shade

as for best sun guard, I like the covercraft and had them in a few cars now

I also have the cover craft and love it. It’s easy to put up and folds up where you can put it on the passenger front along the center console or in the back floorboard. I’ve had mine for over 3 years and it’s still good to go.

I've read that ceramic tint on the windshield can look distorted if you're wearing polorized sunglasses. Anyone here know if this is BS or not?

Just get a generic. From Walmart for 5 bucks and tint the rest of the car with ceramic.

Will it not fit entirely per the custom curvature of the specific vehicle ? But it will keep the car cool.. and save you cash rather than. Spending 100 dollars on the same product...

    Oooh look, another mod.....
If you live in Texas the best Sunguard for your 5th gen is to park it in the shade. I've tried many sun shades on many vehicles, and they barely put a dent in the interior temp when I park in the full sun.

Any chance you get, park in a parking garage, in your own garage, under a covered canopy or big tree

One of the reasons I got vent shades was to open the windows a crack to control heat buildup. Combined with the sunshade, the max temp is a lot lower than fully sealed up.

Heat shields are nice and work well and are like $50-60 shipped. Not cheap but not $100 either.

I've been pretty happy with the Autotech Park Foldable Sunshade. About $50 on Amazon.
