Not the best pic but used the 4R to haul the dirt bikes out for some fun.

Yeah sorry that's my former Xterra on said poser rock at Bill Moore from 15+ years ago. Pretty common rock to pose up on when getting to the lake. I am just seeing some fencing that I don't recall in the back ground so was wondering if the poser rock is still accessible or not.

Took a 3 day road trip earlier this week up to Mammoth before the 4th, with a quick detour up MT. Whitney Portal Road. Put 1000 miles on the truck, drove great and I averaged 19/20 MPG. Have to say the 4Runner makes a perfect road trip/car camp vehicle. I had made a sleep platform found here on the forum for the back of the truck and it worked out great. Enjoyed the beautiful vistas up HWY 395 and discovered some new areas which I had not seen before. Also, finally got to visit Bodie Ghost Town/Historic Park which was a really cool experience and on my bucket list for many yearsMt Whitney Portal.jpg Mammoth.jpg .

Hi, how are the Toyo tires treating you? I'm looking into them as well.

Quite happy with them. They were great off road and handled nicely on the highway. A little noisier at highway speeds then the Toyo Open Country AT3 they replaced but still very much bearable. Time will tell how they wear but so far so good. Can't speak to their winter performance as I have a set of dedicated winter tires.

Clean 4Runner. If I didn't love Lunar Rock as much. I was going to pick up the TRD Pro in the same color.

I love the eastern sierra. I want to take my 4runner up there asap, probably do a fall road trip.

We just missed you; we were at Toroweap on 12 June 2024. For me, this was a very rare opportunity, as My Life [sic] joined India and me. From Toroweap, we went to Whitmore Canyon. Of course, we had the AC; it was 111F at Whitmore Canyon, where I had to carry India during a short hike to the collapsed volcano crater nearby. I also tried out this Kelty shelter, which I bought on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B096SZH7PH?ie=UTF8 Neither an awning or shelter guy, this one serves several purposes and why I have it.

    Thanks for sharing.

I'm looking forward to seeing this in October. I finally got North Rim backpacking permits. Usually I do Grand Canyon from the South Rim in November or March/April.

Just got back from running sections 1 and 2 of the WABDR and about 2/3s of section 3, with my son, before being turned around due to a fire. Planning on heading up this fall to complete the rest of the sections.

I have racked up some pretty good pinstripping. Waiting for the fall to buff them all out then will wrap it with some PPF. Did sustain some minor trail damage on this trip. Ripped off the step on the passenger side of the rig, up on Bethel Ridge, but gave me an excuse to order some CBI rock sliders.
