Just have to get to it. At my peak we did a 13.2 mile 2703 ft elevation gain trail. It was a blast but probably need to work up to it again.

Retired, and soon to be 69 year old old man here, living on two successful total knee joint replacement surgeries over the past two years. Very happy with the results.

Swimming, walking, hiking, bike riding. As well as “lumber jacking,” - meaning working on our 6.5 acres in the Texas hill country, clearing cedar trees and brush, using chain saw, pole saw. Burning the brush, branch and tree piles as rainfall allows.

Other than that, try to eat sensibly- I was diagnosed with celiacs several years ago, so now am on a gluten free diet. So far so good.

I hike pretty often. I hit as many state parks as I can.

Same here, except I was doing 70.3’s. But I was throwing in around 17-20 hours a week training…my wife hated it but I loved it. Eventually, I realized I wasn’t going to win a race so I gave it ALL up and started CrossFit…but I tell ya, CrossFit is brutal on the body if you’re training for a competition.

Yeah, I hear ya on the gym buddy thing. When Covid hit, I basically built a gym in my garage and have been working out solo ever since. It’s tough sometimes to keep the motivation, but I always just tell myself that the time spent now will let me live better.

I used to be a gym rat in my 20's and 30's. As I have gotten older, with knee and back problems I just do very low impact stuff. I do the elliptical and have a Rogue bike in the house. I tried to stretch and do some very light weights. The old days of bench pressing and squats are over for me. But ok, life is good as get closer to the fifth floor.

    I’m retired but when I was working I got up @6am 5days a week.
NOW that I’m retired I get up EVERY day at 4am, wasn’t counting on this but it so quiet and peaceful at that time I’ve grown to love it. Luckily we only live 1/4m from BLM fire/power line roads.

    Oooh look, another mod.....
I've been scrolling through this thread, while eating ice cream (Blue Bell of course, Strawberry!) and I keep telling myself "Yeah, tomorrow...that's the day I start exercising again. And THIS TIME, I meant it!"

But then I shoveled more ice cream into my fat face and now I'm re-thinking that idea.

My 15+year old-best-buddy hound can’t handle summer heat anymore so we go at the coolest part of the day(twilight) for our ~2mile loop, we get back home just as the sun is peeking over the mountains. Added bonus is any snakes are still sleeping from the cool temps.
He is nearing the end but he still enjoys the walks, a bit slower now.

I've been on a strict keto for last 2.5-3 years. I hit the gym everyday. I'm 35 5'10" 205 lb and 12% body fat. I'm trying to get down to single digits right now. I use an old school body builder work out routine
    Mon- chest
    Tue- back/biceps
    Wed- shoulders/tris
    Thurs-legs
    Fri-cardio
    Sat/Sun- calisthenics
Hit 365 for 7 incline bench the other day. Most I've ever benched.
