I once had a 2003 Pre-Runner single cab with the bullet proof 4 cylinder. That truck survived both my kids taking it to College and my wife driving it. I can still hear that engine and feel the ride in that truck.
Used to camp in the back of the 6' bed with a shell.

Sounds awesome! Used to camp in the back of mine as well. Then the next weekend load it down with sand or whatever else I was hauling.

My 13 was a regular cab, 4 wheel, five speed manual 4 cylinder. No key fob, and roll-up windows. I miss that one as well.

    Ok, enough reminiscing!

I like the new look. I think it needs ATs to complete the look. Plus they are dirty. Plan to clean them and the truck and I bet it’ll look much better.

Between then and now I drove a 2006 Tacoma Pre-Runner Quad cab for 17 years. Just sold it, my 2024 4Runner is one week old. Man, I like my new Toyota!

Those rims are a high theft item here in San Diego. I have the same white 4Runner, now I can see what mine would look like.

Nice. I’m wanting to do that . A couple of questions if you don’t mind . Did you take the front bumper off to do that one and did you use factory or aftermarket valances ?

I have wheel spacers on there now from the stock OR wheels but I think they are now out too far. Going to remove one this afternoon and see how it looks with the new wheels since they do push out a small amount.

I got the valances from Yota Expedition. Saving the original valances as they seem much better quality.

I did the front bumper valance without removing the bumper….. of the 13 clips, 9 were easy, 2 were difficult and the last 2 were extremely difficult….. to the point of having my son push on the valance as needed. The 4 difficult clips were as well difficult to install…. But I got it done, about 2 hours

The rear, although it was more to do, I swapped out in less than an hour and found it very easy.

I wish I had fluid film or another oil undercoat handy as I would have sprayed the rear while bumper cover was off

Thanks for the reply . You’re not the first one to say the aftermarket valences are not the same quality as the factory.
I’ll probably just order the factory ones from BAM Wholesale .
I wonder if anyone has just painted the factory valences while they’re mounted on the bumpers ?

While I was doing the A/C drain tube mod, I saw an 8mm nut in my wheel well. I had a tube clamp, so I decided to secure the hose there. Now the rubber drain tube runs a little lower than it needs to, but it works.

I seriously considered painting the valances myself as well, though I purchased the valances and other parts prior to receiving the 4Runner.

Does BAM sell OEM Toyota parts? If so I’m interested in the heritage grill as next upgrade (I’m not happy with the Yota Expedition grill…. My loss)

also, I want to put Wildpeak AT4’s, that will be my third upgrade.

I did purchase a Pro roof rack from toyotadirect prior to receiving vehicle…… I’m not feeling that anymore, it’s sitting in the garage and I’m contemplating whether I should or shouldn’t

Noticed that the Fuel Door wasn't freely moving at the hinge point so took care of that with some lubricant.

BAM is located in Brunswick, OH (used to go under Brunswick Auto Mile or Mart - I forget - that's where BAM comes from). They sell Toyota and have a bunch of other auto franchises under their umbrella. I've purchased a bunch of parts from them over the years. They also sell parts for the other car franchises they have. They have good prices, normally have stuff in stock and ship quickly.

    replaced with Yota expedition,

considered painting original while on bumper, seems possible as you can pull on it and protect bumper cover from overspray

keep your originals, they seem to be higher quality….. keeping them for a wrap or paint if needed in the future

The mod called for 3/8" ID hose. My local True Value had that size in a rubber fuel hose with 1/2" OD. It fit perfectly on the 3/8" nylon hose splicer. I used less than a foot, however I bought 2 feet of it because I plan to mod my Son's 4Runner very soon.

From the factory, your A/C drain hose is draining directly on top of your frame. This could cause corrosion on your frame. For preventative maintenance, this is an easy and inexpensive fix.
