Sadly neither the fuel door nor cap isn lockable. Our 2008 camy has a locking fuel door. Any decent locking fuel caps? The ones I have found online have mixed reviews.

None. They tend to leak and cause a CEL and can usually be defeated by pressing down on them.

And the 2008 4Runner had a locking fuel door, but Toyota had to save 50 cents per vehicle...

MotoRad MGC791 has been working reliably for me the past year and half (52 fill-ups).

Only 61% of buyers gave the MotoRad 5 stars. Quality probably isn't that consistent on the $11 cap, and that's the best locking cap on the market...

Insurance broker here, if someone is going to steal your gas they will end up drilling your tank for it. Happens more often than you would realize. A tank of gas is cheaper than a new tank.

^Locking doors are available for the 3rd gen Taco and 2nd gen Tundra. They are easily installed because the factory plastic fuel filler bezel is bolted to the body sheetmetal (bedside). The locking door frame installs using the same bolt locations. On the 4R the bezel isn't bolted to the body sheetmetal, so no kit exists to my knowledge.

Yeah, I wish there was a locking door for us. I think I am going to attempt to fab one out of aluminum, or 3D print, will require drilling but should be okay.

A solution like that (if there were one for the 4R) would stop the neighbor's naughty kids, but it looks like no match for an angry person with a big screwdriver.

^Most items on the exterior of your 4Runner are either plastic or thin sheetmetal, and wouldn't stand up to a big screwdriver. (Neither would the OEM fuel door on 4th gens.) The fuel door is a low security solution. If someone pried open your fuel door to dump sugar or sand in the fuel tank, it'll be evident when you get in the vehicle, so you wouldn't start the engine.

Biggest problem with the chineseium locking fuel door is the cheap tubular lock will probably rust after one winter and stop working. Then YOU would need to a big screwdriver to refuel. It's a problem afflicting most locking hitch pins too.

Nothing will stop someone with serious in tent. I was just offering an idea to deter an angry ex.

I figure angry ex is in the big screwdriver category. Years ago, the people across the street had an adult son living at home who acquired a live-in girlfriend. Shortly after they broke up, three vehicles belonging to the parents and son were firebombed on Christmas Eve.

^Looks like the son still dodged a bullet. Imagine if he had a child with the GF. It would be 18 years to a lifetime of torment.
I stand corrected. There is one available. Not sure how many fasteners the door surround uses for installation. Rather expensive, too: https://m.aliexpress.us/item/3256805424693713.html
