Theoretical Electrical Question

@J.A. has a great electrical mod that provides full-time power to the 12V sockets. I'd like to build on that. I've added another socket in the back of the center console (facing the rear seats) and want to add a switch to achieve the following functionality:

Switch off - All 3 sockets have ignition-switched power.
Switch on - All 3 sockets have power regardless of ignition position.

Doable? If so, any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

 

You need 2 separate switches or you will create a dead short when you operate the switch with the ignition on.

 

You can use one switch. You need a 3 pole switch that can connect the output to 1 input at a time, as selected. It will probably have an off position in the middle. One input will be from ignition power, and the other directly from the battery. I'd probably put a fuse on the output, or both inputs, to be safe.
