It's almost July 2024. Can a 2024 4Runner SR5 4WD still be ordered?

I'm working with two dealerships and, needless to say, they both tried selling me something off their lots. I persisted on what i wanted: a basic 2024 SR5 4WD with liners and cargo tray-- nothing special.

One of them hesitated and said unlikely I can 'order' one but will try. The other did not and was easy on the idea. Both gave me a 1-3 mo timeframe for delivery.

Of course I want to ensure I have one in hand, say, in 2-3 months but now I'm not sure the plausibility of getting what I want. The 2024s are in fact still being built.

    Many thanks for thoughts!

The closer it comes to the end, the more likelier it is that holding for a particular option package will end up making you get a '25.

Unlike American manufacturers, Toyota does not allow custom ordering a vehicle that will be built to your specs. What a dealer can do is watch what is coming off the line in Japan where the 4Runners are built, and put dibs on a unit that is closest to what you want.

This I found out a year ago when I tried to order a 4Runner exactly like I wanted it. The dealer also has the ability to search the database of other dealers in the US and if they have what you want, then it can be shipped to your dealership.

Do a search on Toyota of the inventory out there. I found what I wanted, and the dealer traded for it. It was still in production at the time, took about three weeks to get it. I was able to get it without any options or none of the dealer options, no $699 Toyota Car. Good discount on list price. I guess according to the dealership. Good Luck.

It's strictly allocation. If they have one coming, buy it.

I've got a '24 Solar Octane ORP coming in at the end of July that my dealer managed to snag in exchange with another dealer for a more generic color. I put a deposit down on a new '25 4Runner but once they were unveiled I changed it to a '24 so I could get a final year 5th gen.

I was looking for an SR5P similar to your spec. I was told that on the West coast, the majority of SR5 models come with either 3rd row seats or the sliding cargo tray. I really wanted an open cargo area so I opted for an ORP that had a sunroof. In the end it was only a few hundred dollars more than the SR5 I built and cheaper than what I was quoted for in stock units. Seems like the SR5's were harder to come by in May.
