How are you liking the R/T Trails? I'm considering them for the Tundra.

The R/T Trails performed great, I aired them down to 20psi which helped with the ride comfort. They're C load. Previous tire was Toyo AT3's which were fine but I didn't need their winter performance since I have dedicated winters so I was able to go one step more aggressive. They are noisier on the highway but that doesn't bother me. Still not as noisy as the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S's I had on my old GTI.

Think Slaughterhouse is doable stock? Never been but have heard there’s some deep ruts and decent rocks out there.

You’d probably be ok if you stuck to the bypass lines. Be prepared to scrape in a few spots.

Have you been on it recently, @Forever? I don't really know what it used to look like. There's one spot where a bypass has gotten pretty well dug out, at the top of the hill from the big landing area about half-way through. There was a stock Chevy 1500 that was struggling to get through a few spots. It seems they had to get pulled out a few times. Or at least that's what one of their group-mates in a sxs complained about when she warned me away from a different spot.

The tags were what I was issued when I bought the 4R. I kinda ran with it. Yes, I did name my truck ALF.

Actually, I forgot that I was alongside a stock 4R. And yes, it did fine. I'm sure it scraped some though.

Dispersed camping in Manti-La Sal Nat'l Forest high country. Havent seen another vehicle/sole since Saturday. Utah is not what this Midwestern Flatlander expected, in the best ways.

The pond hinted at in previous post pic:
    20240617_183517.jpg
    Its feeder stream:
    20240614_111107.jpg
I don't fish, but the feeder stream is no more than ankle deep most places and could be vaulted by a younger man with a half dozen feet running start. Whatever trout version they are, a stick might be better than a rod if they weren't so skittish.

Yes there is! I've been bouncing around the mountains in my Jeep Wrangler for 25 years but this is the first time I've gotten the 4R up there. There dear flies were out of control around Arrowhead so I was glad I wasn't in my topless Jeep or I would have gotten eaten alive!

My first time 4 wheeling up there was in 2008 with my new FJ Cruiser. Attended a cool Trail Teams event by Toyota and ran several trails that day including the John Bull trail. Incredibly difficult trail full of rocks but the truck made it through unscathed on stock suspension. I was very impressed. Switched to a Jeep which was a great truck too but now happy to be back in a Toyota.

Stocker FJ across John Bull! That is pretty impressive, it's not an easy trail. It's also quite a bit more difficult now compared to 2008. Same goes for Gold Mountain and Holecomb Creek, they have gotten progressively more challenging. I feel like I have the best of both worlds by having both the Jeep and 4R in my stable.

There's a few things that I miss about SoCal, (being born and raised there). I really really miss the diversity of food and the OHV trails.
From the Adopt-A-Trails, Holcomb, JB, GM and White to The Rubicon. I belonged to the MyJeepRocks AAT group that maintains Holcomb.

Up here in MT., there are a few OHV trails but mostly just logging and fire roads. Very scenic but not too challenging.
And the food, well, we do beef really well. But we seriously lack good Mexican and Asian (sushi) places.

Maybe this summer, I'll price a couple of end-dump loads of 2 ton boulders to make myself a play area in my backyard.
I really miss crawling with a 98:1 crawl ratio.
