Has anyone with Blizzard Pearl paint done any touch-ups? I'm looking to get some touch-up paint for my 4Runner and wanted to hear from those who have Pearl paint. I've used Dr. ColorChip but I am curious about the results others have had with Genuine Toyota touch-up paint or any other brand.

    Thanks

I have used Toyota OEM touch up paint to restore a free paint chips on my hood (MY24 Limited), but I was not happy at all with the results. The base coat and top coat just don’t match the original color or finish. But…. It’s still better than a spot of rust.

When I need to touch up another spot again, I’m going to try applying a couple of coats of base coat (using a toothpick) and then mix up some base coat with clear coat to try to get a better finish. Then lightly wet sand with 3000 grit and then use rubbing compound followed by polish.

My last Pathfinder was pearl and hard to match. I agree it needs the basecoat, paint, and clear coat. I'll have to look into Dr. Colorchip and some of the others. Thanks!

I bought some of this off of eBay and it's really terrible. Looking for a solution as well.

Blizzard Pearl is a 3 stage paint and is very difficult to get right with your over the counter paint pens. Toyota recommends the super white touch up base, followed by the blizzard pearl touch up.

Just go to your auto paint supply store and have them mix up the touch up paint for you. It will come in a small bottle and will be the closest that you’ll get. The best part is most places are less than $10.
