Has anybody either retrofit the roof console that includes Homelink buttons onto an SR5, or found some other form of solution for a pushbutton or switch style Homelink button? As an alternative for an aftermarket key fob or other similar solution?

I'd swap in a mirror with homelink. Gentex has solutions.

If I remember correctly, Gentex makes those rearview mirrors, right? I'm guessing it would be swap-compatible with the mirror that's in there now?

Yes although it may not be plug and play. I have this one in my GTO but I have yet to wire it up. The OEM mirror had nothing. I have the model before this without bluetooth.

Yes. I found this console for sale on eBay last November and I stalled it in my 2023 SR5. It was plug and play and a straight swap out. The Homelink buttons work perfectly.

Pretty sure mine will be, it has the auto-dimming on this one. I'm getting a new mirror with compass and Homelink that's supposedly just plug and go. We'll see what happens. :)

BINGO! That's what I'm looking for, in black. Out of curiosity, how was it labeled/described on the page?

This is how the ad was titled:
2020-2022 TOYOTA 4RUNNER FRONT OVERHEAD CONSOLE SUNROOF & DOOR SWITCH UNIT OEM

As I recall, the seller removed it from a 2022 4Runner that was totaled. It was basically brand new. I lucked out. The wiring harness plugged right into my 4Runner and everything worked on it except the sunroof buttons because I have no sunroof.

Cool! I'm going to look into it. For now I'm gonna use a small key fob that works with my garage door. That may be the permanent answer.

Thanks to everyone for all the suggestions, all good input!
