Hey adventurers! After an 8 week lead time, I finally received my Uptop Overland Bravo rack. Complete with 38 inch cut for Extreme LED light bar (more on this later). Yesterday was DIY install day and I have to share with you some things I learned. The Bravo rack is an attractive, no drill rack that checks the boxes for what I’m looking for. I was able to complete the install in about ten hours (don’t laugh, I’m old with a desk job) with breaks in between “jobs”. YouTube videos are very helpful, but they don’t tell you which are the hardest parts, especially for those of us without a ton of experience. By far, punching an accurate hole through metal-infused weather stripping, and then trying to align the install bolts, blindly (because of the silicone) was the hardest part to overcome. Now I just hope I placed enough silicone material to avoid any leaks. I’m happy with the results. I’m just working through a drone like sound at 50 mph that I totally wasn’t expecting. Doing your install? Ask me anything!

Looks good. I have the same rack but chose to have them install it. Luckily for me as Drew said one of the bolts had seized up.

I didn't punch any weather stripping... Interested to hear why you did

Love the rack! Where did you find the grill badge overlay? I have a 2020 and can’t find it with the new bar section.

Ditto. All weather stripping was already “notched”, no cutting required. I know the Prinsu rack install has you cut out the front mounting feet so it sits directly in the rain channel on the metal with the rubber feet. They also use a 3m strip to adhere it; something I thought I might end up doing since I kept hearing the rack bounce when off road.

I have the same rack and got the same noise. Once the light bar is installed that should almost go away; try moving the first crossbar farther back. It helped reduce the wind noise on my 4R.

Im replacing the OEM cross bars with another rack and noticed something similar with the white plastic bolt guides. Mine are either smushed down or cut flush with the roof like yours. Have you had any issue with water leaking down? I plan on using Butyl tape and silicone around it to seal but figured I’d ask. As far as I can tell the white pieces only serve as a bolt guide.
