Got the response from Amazon customers. They all feel as though it will not effect the emission. I wonder if people that have over 100,000 miles on their 4runner add this part. This is a cheap part so I will order it with better hoses from Amazon. No worry's bc I would not have wasted to much money. Thanks for the info,

It should not impact emissions. I have no data but it should improve emissions since you're not burning oil from the PCV. For California, they have the visual inspection component and that's where items that don't have a CARB EO number will be failed. Simple solution is disconnect the catch can and put the original PCV hose on when you drop in for the test. You can install again when you get home.

    The one I bought,
    https://www.jlosc.com/JL-3-0-oil-se...toyota-4runner-4l-07-14-toyota-fj-cruiser-4l/

says they are not CARB complaint and dont use in the DPRK or other communist states that use the DPRK standards

I also ordered one for my 2000 4Runner, that is supercharged, that has ~240K miles on it

I have a 23 Pro-4X and it's a much better truck than the 18 Tacoma Limited I had. Excellent engine, good leather, updated electronics. Only issue for me is the turning radius is larger than the Tacoma. It's way quicker off the line compared to my 23 4Runner Pro.

I suspect there will be no catch cans with EO numbers because the cost to obtain an EO number would be cost prohibitive and no consumer would pay that much for a catch can.

I think it's probably more useful on the supercharged vehicle but even the OEM engine can benefit from not sucking in all that oily air.

    Looks good!

    Dumb (but loaded) question.

You installed 1" spacers to get a 1" lift?
I know that because of motion ratio (on the Prado/ 4R platform's IFS suspension) if you install a 1" top hat spacer you'll get close to 1.8" of lift.

From the photo, it looks like you got nearly 2" of lift. The rig looks almost level with very little rake. Typically stock center-of-hub to fender measurements are 20" front, 22" rear.
So I'm guessing you installed a 1" spacer and got close to 2" of lift.

Could you provide hub to fender measurements for your new setup?

I'm curious because my buddy is looking at doing a top hat spacer lift similar to this.

Assuming you mean Frontier and not Titan, be sure to try the back seat. The lack of room ruled it out for me.

It can't be carb compliant because it lets out pollutants. Its not a cost thing.

IMO its just adding maintenance and provides no value. These aren't powerful engines that can benefit from this sort of thing.

1" Cornfed Spacer was the 1st mod I did. 6 mos later it was on my nephews Taco, and I had a new suspension. Didn't plan it that way but once you start down the rabbit hole......:spending:. Spacers are a "gateway mod". Many more to come.

I find this HARD to believe,
why would any business sell shit that serve no purpose?
just to make money, while laughing all the way to the bank?
    I doubt that...

And Im still glad I paid $2000 at the dealer for the lifetime floor mat alignment package...

Yeah Frontier the interior room is some what smaller. I’ll most likely keep the 4 Runner as there is more and more stuff I’m finding that’s a deal breaker.

Good questions. The spacer itself is not an inch tall…it’s half an inch.

before front = 21 inches, rear 22.75 inches EXACTLY

    after front = 22 inches, rear 22.75

That’s bottom of the center cap (not directly in the middle on the Toyota emblem).

Ah okay so .5" spacers you called 1" spacers because you knew that they would result in 1" of lift. Understood.

Beautifully done. I like that you retained .75" of usable rake for loading up some gear.

I was telling my buddy to not go more than .5" with the spacer lift as he'd risk the shocks bottoming out internally before hitting the bump stops.
He'd also have more down travel this way which in some ways can be a good thing as long as you're not risking CV binding or UBJ binding.

Again, nicely done. Spacer lifts can get a bad wrap here but I say if you understand them and like 4Runner's stock suspension there's really nothing wrong with em.

Exactly. My 2015 has 130k miles on it and I think the stock suspension feels really good. The off-roading I do is essentially dirt pavement trails…maybe a hair of terrain and rocks…nothing that requires super long travel or additional height.

I’m also not a fan of lifting the front of any vehicle with leveling kits, more than 1-1.5 inches. Heck my last Silverado build, I just went 1.85 in the front with the Eibach pro truck lift.

Previously had a solenoid on my battery for the winch. Cut off that bracket to weld a new one on to add a breaker for a new stereo system and inverter. Before and after.

@djwantke just a head up, the battery is shorter and you'll need different tie down bolts, if you end up getting one, then installing it but cant bolt it down. Stock bolt's threads are too high.

These guys have a great shop in Englewood. They're well known for the muffler chop & reroute for tacos. I was going to do this on my 2013 taco but havent gotten to it. I'd just buy a Walker Exhaust, it seems to be the best solution for the cost. They dont last like oem but they are cheaper. I bet that shop has a few cheap ones they could sell. Check the shop before you order a brand new one

Thank you very much. I will give them a call tomorrow.

I looked at Walker quiet SS and it seems to be slightly louder than stock. If stock SR5 muffler is the quietest I'm going to go with that. Will see what they say. May be I will go in person.

I was planning to go to "House of Mufflers and Brakes". But I will check with your recommendation 1st. I need top quality welds that look like oem with meeting or exceed oem quality parts. Will see how things go.

Toy car care was my first attempt. They denied to modify it. They said they will only replace the parts the vehicle came with. Meaning if vehicle came with TRD exhaust they will only install TRD exhaust.

Now on to polish. Using optimum hyper polish spray. Really easy to work with. Front door polished, back door up next.

I did the A/C condenser drain extension mod. It was a messy job because of the Woolwax, but it only took a couple minutes. I used hose clamps on both ends of the union barb to reduce the chances of having to do it again.
