Headed out there in a couple weeks. Have a place in Three Rivers lined up and planning to cruise through both parks to see some sights before heading to Yosemite for a few days. Is there any time benefit to looping away from the Ash Mountain Entrance in the AM and going up to Big Stump first and heading back down vs just heading in and taking Generals Hwy up the whole way? Perfect world on Maps the transit time seems about the same but curious is one direction is way busier within the park, or if say Big Stump gets packed later so would make sense to get there early and then meander back down. TIA
