I have a 2022 TRD Offroad (nonKDSS) with 6112 shocks up front set to #6/#4. This was the setup recommended by Shock Surplus. The 6112s are currently mated to the stock BILSTEIN E4-FD1-Z005B50 coils. In the rear I have 5100 shocks with springs that provide an extra inch of height. The only thing added is a Gobi Stealth roof rack and GooseGear platform. The ride has been wonderful in every way. I couldn't be happier.

To start overlanding, I'm adding the following:

    WEIGHT ALL UP FRONT:
    - C4 LoPro bumper 75 lb
    - Warn Winch 75 lb
    - Lightbar in bumper 5 lb
    - Dual battery up front. 25 lb
    Approx weight added 180 lbs

    DISTRIBUTED WEIGHT (front and rear):
    - Gobi Roof Rack 70 lb
    - Full RCI Skidplates 120 lb
    - 4X Inn. Rock Sliders 150 lb
    - OVS Awning 40 lb
    Approx weight added 380 lbs

When on trips, I'll have more weight distributed due to 12V fridge, food, toilet system, added water, added fuel, sleep system, recovery gear, tools, ROAM case, MAXTRAX, stove, propane...the usual overlanding stuff. Of course, I take this stuff off when not on trips. This may equal another 100-150 lbs or more for trips.

With my research, I see there are two options for heavier springs.

....MFR.........P/N for One Coil....P/N for Pair of Coils....Details
    1. BILSTEIN...E4-FD1-Z562B00.....53-291387....................For 80-140 lbs extra in front
    2. BILSTEIN...E4-FD1-Y005B46.....53-332837.....................For 150-200 lbs extra in front

My dilemma. The BILSTEIN website clearly shows 53-332837 coils are only for the 8112s.

Although the BILSTEIN website clearly shows the option 2 heavier duty coils only work with the 8112s, multiple websites sell the 6112s with the option 2 coils under the suspension kit part number 47-311039. I had one shop recommend those coils to me, but then backtrack after I discussed the note I found on BILSTEIN's website. The shop then recommended the option 1 heavy duty coils. As a matter of fact, I've had two shops recommend the option 1 coils although I clearly have way more than 180 lbs up front. It's really odd. Those same shops agreed the option 2 coils only mate with the 8112s.

To muddy the waters futher, I've seen a couple of forum posts that say the option 2 coils are too stiff even with a large steel bumper and winch up front like I have. I've also seen where someone was happy with it.

So, due to the cost of buying and replacing the coils, I only want to do this once, with the right coil for the job and with the best circlip setting so my ride is lifted but reliable.

Any experience out there with the 47-311039 suspension kit, which are the 6112s with the option 2 coils????
