Thanks for the add. This is my first (of many probly) 4runner. `03 SR5 4.0 V6 2wd. 275k on the clock. Bought it about 6,7 years ago and haven`t done anything to it except drive it 100,000 miles !!!!
New to the 4runner but not new to Toyota having had a `83 longbed 4x4 pickup with 33s. Plus an 86(?)Celica. Bought the wife a `21 Corolla. Which means the `03 4Runner is now MINE to play with !!!

Thanks kids !!! Now that the wife has her car... Plans are to keep it "mild"...(yeah, I know...) Level the front a couple inches, swap the spare to the bumper along with 1 or 2 jerry cans, locker for the rear end, maybe re-do the roof rack into something more solid.

DesertSurfer Cool truck. Ours was that burnt orange color with the stripes along the whole length of it. Wagon wheels, 31s, went everywhere in Borrego and Ocotillo. I have a pic somewhere, I need to find it. I graduated from PHS in `74, lived in Poway from `65-`81ish...lived somewhere in North County ever since.

I know that Burnt Orange color with the SR5 side stripes and like them both. I graduated from Orange Glen in 1973 and moved to Poway in 2000. I was out to Borrego a couple times this season trying out the 4Runner, was awesome. Purchased my 82 truck from Poway Toyota. Also retired. That photo of the 82 4X4 was taken at Glamis near Gecko campground, man those were the days.

Wow! I had a 1980 long bed almost exact same color (til I painted it). Wish I still had it.

    Welcome from Nebraska. :hattip:

Got to love the classic Toyota's, trucks and all. Currently, I am driving the oldest Toyota truck/SUV that I have owned. But I did also own an 86 Celica GTS. It was my first Toyota, and with 200k miles on it, it did not disappoint me.

Thanks R4Adventure That Celica was a long time ago but I remember it to be akin to a go-kart. Almost makes me want to buy another one and tune it...but then again, I like having a drivers license. lol

Yeah. Most FWD cars I drove up to the point weren't fun to drive.

The Celica loved being pushed into corners and the small 3S-GE 2.0 4cycl was an amazing engine. I was so impressed with the Celica that I bought a then new 2000 Celica GT that shared many of the same traits that the 86 did. It was a sad day when Toyota canceled the Celica. That said, I to wouldn't mind another 86, though the Turbo All-Trac would be my preference.
Alas, I already own a 2003 BMW M3 and I am surprised I haven't lost my license with it already. :burnrubber:
