So this was actually the biggest pain of the whole install, took some trial by error to get the clearance i needed between the relay and circuit breaker (mounted on the PowerTrays dual CB tie-down) and the Kaon bracket, as well as between the Blue Sea safety hub and the hood. We are talking 8ths of an inch increments to get it to work perfect. The tie down is latched using SDHQ adjustable j hook kit with some modifications. I originally bought longer button head screws for the top bolts and used 3/4in unthreaded spacers I got from Mcmaster-carr to create clearance for the relay and CB but it's was a PITA to remove anything for maintainance because everything had to align perfectly. I ended up switching it up and used 5/8 hex aluminum 1/4-20 threaded stand-offs from Mcmaster-carr (which perfectly match the SDHQ adjustable hooks) to lock down the tie-down across the battery. I ran 2.5in 1/4-20 stainless steel rods down through to the j-hook and then basically used the stand-offs to bolt the tie down clamp tight. Then I just put the Kaon bracket down over the excess rod thread and used a nut to clamp that. This way I can take off just the bracket by removing the nut without loosing the tie down clamp and if I need to remove the tie down clamp I just unscrew the 3/4" hex standoff.

Put some new cargo liners in yesterday. Had a half hour to quickly wash it up since its supposed to be nice for the next week. Weds/Thurs I'm doing a full clay/decon/polish/ceramic coat.

Thanks a ton! It’s the Husky Liner aeroskin in smoke. For my 2023, the part number is 2842025. I bought 2 of the exact same…the other went on my 2015 SR5. The only watch out is that it’s a tape application, not a screw in like most deflectors. If you get one, practice setting it in place. I was 95% accurate on my 2015 but 100% on my 2023.

That's awesome but I don't think I'd have made it through that! Been kicking around a multi day trip out there with a mixed group; built jeeps to stock tundra, hopefully we can have some fun without breaking anything. Got any camping tips for Merus?



New wheels, went with 17x9 -12 and ditched the spacers. Great so far.

Those ones look easy to install, I'm referring to the product that only covers the chrome, not any of the actual light.

 

Yeah I went with E's on the next set but I'm not sure it would have made a difference in that case

Nice rig! Merus has plenty of easy trails. Just wanted something challenging so I hit the black (hard) trails!

For camping I'd say during the summer months the rim camp sights aren't as hot but you may get a lot of wind out there. Enough to blow down some ground tents.
In canyon camping you have protection from wind and more shaded areas. But it gets very 5-10 degrees hotter in the canyon.

As a general rule most people camp on the rim during the summer, and in the canyon during the winter.
