Currently have a 23 ORP with KDSS. Was planning on getting a 25 Limited. After seeing the 6G release I’m not so sure now. Might keep what I have and upgrade my suspension or maybe get a 24 Limited and modify it.

Looking to do mild lift. 1.5-1.7”. Does anyone know if these shocks (Bilstein 6112/5160) will increase front travel if I don’t get new UCA?

if I plan to keep it level and don’t have weight in the back I guess I can forgo getting any rear springs with my kit?

As far as UCA is there one that is good and requires no maintenance (ie I know Ironman are similar to OEM and no maintenance). I see SPC mentioned a lot but I think I saw somewhere they need some periodic greasing maintenance?

If I get a Limited and want to put in Bilstein 6112 and 5160 does this mean the XREAS system gets ripped out and tossed in trash?

I can only answer your last question, but yes, if you put the Bilstein 6112/5160's on, you will have to rip out the XREAS.

If you don’t lift the rear with your 5160s you can keep the springs. I did lift mine with that exact shock choice and had to buy new springs.

Here is my SR5 without KDSS with the 6112/5160 setup and Dobinsons UCA. I am really happy with the ride. Its much smoother and does not having the front end dip every time I brake. I got about 3in of lift and still rollin' with my 265/70/17 Duratracs but will probably go to 285's when I need new treads.

Even UCAs barely give you more travel and that's only if they bind slightly later. If you want more, the only solution is making both arms longer, a.k.a. long travel.

Travel isn't as important as well-tuned shocks.

I think the front Bilstein shocks are longer struts than factory, so without their springs it’s near same amount of travel, and will give you height obviously - but with better tuned travel you could say.
And ya I have KDSS and a Bilstein 5100 lift and SPC’s. You don’t need UCA’s with 1.7 lift, but they are nice.

SPC switched to maintenance free now btw.
I upgraded from their grease zerk balljoints to new spc sealed joints early this year. Yes, they used to require periodic grease. Before COVID era severe manufacturing quality issues, SPC was widely recommended. They haven’t recovered from that. But I haven’t seen evidence of any failed sealed bj’s. Their x-axis bushing upgrade kit is next on my list, cuz their bushings went to crap too. What I’m saying is I’m sticking with SPC, and opted to retrofit new and improved parts as opposed scrapping and buying new brand for big money.
I highly recommend Dobinsons, Total Chaos and JBA.
    Also highly recommended 6100/5160

I have 2” lift springs in the rear, and 3” in the front - spring perch set to lowest groove.
Rear Bilstein shocks without springs I believe are the same length as Factory, so no added height and with no extra weight that’s fine.

Absolutely yes, if you buy a Limited and wish to upgrade the suspension, it almost always requires gutting the XREAS entirely. Which costs money.
