    Hi,

Has anyone ever mounted a Hi-Lift Jack horizontally on one crossbar? I have a full roof Prinsu rack and would like to mount the jack along the back width of the truck on the roof rack. Is this even possible? I would be using the Prinsu mounts and turn them 90 degrees. My fear is that the crossbar may not be strong enough to hold something heavy like a jack.

I tried to find anything that demonstrates a jack mounted side to side rather than front to back across 2-3 crossbars but have gotten no where.

    Any insight would be appreciated.

    Thanks

I would shift one of the bars to sit next to the other (buying an extra if needed), so the bolts for each mount are split between the two bars.

Thanks! I thought of using two bars as well. I am not 100% sure what I am going to do yet. For now, I mounted it down the middle between my Roam box and MaxTrax. I don’t plan on driving with it all the time. That’s why thought it be easier to access across the back. I strip everything (Roam box, awning, MaxTrax, and anything else that interferes with gas mileage) down in the winter because I generally don’t go up camping then.

Thanks for replying and offering a potential solution.

Where do you jack from with a high lift jack with stock plastic bumpers?

How do you know if I have plastic stock bumpers? I never mentioned whether I did or didn’t. I have CBI rock sliders that will also work.
