Aimed my headlights down after their install last week. The cart jockeys at the Meijer weren't sure what I was up to.

Dude my brother came over and I had to do something else for a bit. I come back and he's got the dash apart and I don't know where he put any of the screws and bolts.

All the interior stuff and zip locked bagged and taped to the parts they go to so that's pretty fool proof.

I've seen video's on YouTube about this. The did quiet down the interior decibel level, but not by a lot. Long story short (in my opinion): It's a lot of squeeze for barely any juice.

Changed the oil filler cap. It's beyond me why mechs tighten a simple plastic cap with a gasket with all their might. That's why there is a gasket so you don't keep yanking it.
    This was the old one.

I replaced my moon roof seal. While purchasing the 4Runner I noticed 6 spots where the seal was damaged. (critters?) No leakage to the interior during washing or in rainstorms. Ordered and received the OEM seal quickly. Installation and adjustment took about 1-1/2 hours. Nobody would probably ever notice the old, damaged seal, however it is one of those “peace of mind” things that was bugging me!

Hey that's really ambitious work there! I'm looking to put a custom rear cargo light in the headliner and those pics help me see areas where I may or may not have clearance between the headliner and roof structure for the light assembly!

No issues at all. I watched a video from The Car Care Nut guy which was very helpful espeically the part about using a silicone spray during the seal installation. Even the adjustment portion was easy if you are comfortable feeling where the T25 Torx bolts are. I ordered the seal from a local dealer for $50.84 including tax and shipping.

Goog luck! Just take your time and you will be fine. I'm not sure what a dealer would charge for replacement, however as we all know - DIY = $$s saved to spend on mods!

Stock stereo is pretty bad. Any upgrade is worth it. It's not as fun as I had hoped.

I swapped out the stock speakers for a package from Trail Grid Pro. They're Kicker's, and I slapped an AMP & Cross over on them to max out the sound. Now my stereo rocks. I kept the stock head unit though. I actually like the look of it and the layout of the display.

Plus you'd never know I upgraded the system. It's stealthy.

Ran it through car wash yesterday. Noticed a tiny chip on hood. Ordered OEM touch up paint supposed to be here tomorrow.
Reminds me when I was in Corp. Flt Dept. We'd do this every Dec. on the S76-C for the 12 mos. inspection, every 3rd year tare the head apart & remove swashplate, T/R blades for snubber bearing Insp.

    Gave our 2024 it’s 1st break-in oil change at 780 miles (was hoping for 777 ).

Also installed the cali-raised cat shields as they’ve been sitting in the garage for about a month.

Glad to finally get my hands dirty with our new 5th gen.

Drove the female parental unit to the local K-Rogers.

Then saw this in the lot:

I have been thinking about getting cali-raised cat shields.. How was the install? as easy as they make it look?
