lED Interior Lights

I just received my Cali Raised LED interior lights (16 pcs).
I've installed all but the two puddle lights, and the glove box light which is my question. I don't see/can't find any existing glove box light in my 2024 Pro. Is there a glove box light?

Edit: went ahead and put the license plate lights in.

 

It's not replaceable. In Toyota's infinite wisdom, they made it part of a wiring harness because derp and it stays on all the time you have the lights on. It really looks like a wire tap.

 

If I'm not mistaken my 2021 TRD Pro does not have glove box light and foot well lights vs my Limited have them.

When I check online about changing puddle lights it looks risky to me, so I kept the factory lights.

What's with the license place lights? Its the easiest thing.

 

I've done them since my post & edited it as such. I had stopped for a beer.
And yes, the puddle lights are on hold too.

 

I have no idea why all these companies who supply LED light sets keep including one for the glove box. It never has been replaceable.

 

It isn't in your best interest to make your license plate easier to read at night.

 

It is for me. The cops in my little town have pulled over A LOT of people for that. It's really just a bs excuse to pull them over in the hopes they get 'em for something else, but I don't want to give "the man" any reason at all to pull me over.

If I get pulled over, I'd have to explain the weapons of mass destruction I carry, the 20kilo's of coke and the dead hooker that's tied up. I can't afford a scandal, I'm in public office!

 

Naw, public scandal is a requirement now a days. If not the media will not talk about you.

 

About half the entries in the local police blotter begin with a motor vehicle stop due to a light out or license plate issue. Of course those entries typically end with a failed sobriety test, or an open container, drugs or paraphernalia in clear view. Sometimes they include enhancements for driving while suspended or having open warrants.

I added brighter LP lights. Looks better and I'm not worried about my plate being ran.

 

If you have a reason to care if your license plate is read, you might be doing something wrong.

 

If both your incandescent OEM lamps are working, the cop has no grounds to pull you over for the license plate, unless he's trying to start shit, in which case he's going to pull you over anyway. Meanwhile, making your plate more readable to automated speed cameras and red light cameras aren't in your best interest.

You have no parole violations or outstanding arrest warrants? The virtue signaling on this board is unbelievable! Next you're going to tell me you've never been indicted!

 

Pfft, I finished my parole like 10yrs ago and haven't been caught for anything since!

 

I installed my license plate LEDs yesterday and last night after dark I went out to see how they all looked. It may have been my eyes playing tricks on me but when I backed out of my driveway, the rearview camera display looked brighter than normal.

 

Not to derail, but what about reverse lights? Anybody making those LED? I don’t see much of a benefit but I know some people do. I just don’t know why.

Im less concerned with hiding my license plate, than the overall look of the vehicle...

I watched @kmeeg video and really like the look of the white LED lights...
I was debating about upgrading to interior LEDs, most of the ones on dealer lot had the port installed $199 LED interior upgrade...but not mine

I finally changed out my mirror puddle lights today. It took about 20 minutes total for both sides. It's pretty easy after all.

 

Great. How much brighter do they show now ?

 

It's white and looks brighter but tonight I'll get to find out for sure.

If you have side mirror turn signals, do puddle lights and sequential turn signals at the same time.

I put brighter reverse LED bulbs in and it did improve night time visibility on my dark driveway.

 

Same here; got some extra bright LED reverse lights, and it helps a lot for parking lots as well.

 

It's strange. With all of the later technology, I wonder why Toyota doesn't use the better bulbs in their vehicles to begin with ?

 

Gotta use up the old stock first.
