Hey Gang. This is the rear cargo area plastic from the passenger side where the inverter is located. The piece that cover this hole drips down about an inch to help hold stuff as a shelf.

I am trying to fit a larger inverter and if I could cover this hole in a way that is flat instead of indented down I could fit the larger inverter.

Anything know if this is something abstereo shop could do and patch this with fiber glass like how they make custom pods and stuff?

    Or any other ideas?

That could be a candidate for 3D printing. If you find somebody with the right equipment, a laser scan would be a good starting point for the design.

Take the piece that fits this location, flip it over and trace onto some posterboard. Cut and test fit, making any dimensional adjustments as need be. Once you have the fit that you want you now have a stencil to make a final piece out of whatever material you want...be it aluminum, HDPE (High Density Polyethylene), even polycarbonate.

Maybe a piece of perforated sheet metal to allow heat dissipation, with plastic or rubber extrusion to finish the sharp edge.

Yeah I was thinking that, or cut the tray out of the existing piece just leaving the frame around the edge and stretch speaker grill fabric over it and pop back in. So long as you don't ever put anything on it will be fine....
