How much trouble is that to install?

 

OEM boot cover was stapled on the inner frame of the console (frame is removable). Just removed the staples and stapled the leather boot in the same place. Not to difficult, just take your time.

 

is that the standard red stitching?
or did you order special stitching?

I ordered the standard black leather and dark red stitching will see if it matches the stitches on the leather but anyways should be a nice expense to look at

I've been giving the credit card a workout today...

I ordered grey full leather Katzin seats with red stitching
I ordered grey leather shift knobs with red baseball stitching
and
I just ordered the grey shift boot with red baseball stitching from redline

The dove grey leather almost perfectly matches the headliner and the pillars of the interior...
I hope it all ties together and looks OK

 

let me know how the katzin seats look!! that's like my other interior thing that i wanna do to save the original seats as best as i can... while also splurging a little on my butt!!

PS i did the same thing... honestly 4-6 weeks USPS?? sounds like a way to just pay them more money imo

 

Just had Katzkin’s installed last week. Pricey but worth it in my opinion. I plan on keeping my 4r to the end.

 

It doesn't look any different than what comes on the off road premium!! They look great!

Do they just wrap over existing ?

 

No wrap. They remove the cloth and install the leather in its place. I had heaters added. Used factory switch placements. Really happy with how it turned out.

 

nice to see how they look installed, Ive seen katzkins installed on an FJ, but never on a 4runner

I ordered full leather,
black with dove grey faces
red stitching
perforated inserts only
TRD in red on all four headrests
I retained the factory seat heaters

I think the dove grey seats, shift boot, and shift knobs will tie in with the dove grey headliner...I almost went with red faces/grey stitching

 

How much for this if you don't mind me asking? Looks good.

 

Damn an offroad and some katskinz and basically turns into a orp

 

I was quoted 1595.00 for the basic leather for front and second row. I opted for the XT leather upgrade which is Katzkins heaviest leather for 400.00 since we have two golden retrievers and a daughter that swims year round. In hindsight could have probably gotten by with the basic and saved that coin. Going with the XT the perforation in the front seat wasn’t an option I was told. Heaters were another 395.00. Labor 800.00 for the install. No discounts available at the time of my purchase. Pricey but exceeded my expectations. Even the wife made a comment about how good it looks which is rare. Overall, knowing I’m keeping this vehicle for a looooong time, I have no regrets.

 

Yes! That’s the way I looked at it as well since I didn’t want a sunroof.

 

Look super nice and I bet the smell on the vehicle is super nice and fresh compared to before. I bought my 4R used with 10K and haven't been able to get rid of the smell and considering exactly the same thing you did.

 

Post pics when it’s installed. That’s going to look sexy!!!

I asked my local upholstery shop, that I've used before on cars and house furniture, how much to install this kit and he quoted me $400 cash...
The dealer offered to install for $600, and cover it as a dealer installed new accessory...so I did the dealer
