Wondering if cold air intakes are worth it and or even available in California.
    Any advise would be appreciated.

Waste of money. The truck already has a cold air intake. Just doesn't say "TRD" on it.

It will depend on what you're trying to achieve with a cold air intake.

Stock is cold air and legal. I went with a pieced together TRD from the parts list floating around just for some sound but it does nothing for power. Smog is in 8 years anyway so I’m not worried and it can easily be swapped.

Too poor to buy anything now
Buy yourself a red "TRD" sticker and stick it on the stock air box. You're welcome.

Is it worth it? - Not on the T4R other than for looks.

Can you get one in CA? - Yes, as long as it has a CARB sticker.

It would not be something I would spend money on. Mostly since the 5th Gen already has a cold air intake.

Some of these aftermarket so-called "cold air" intakes actually convert the factory cold air intake into a hot air intake!

What is the best way to call someone a Richard? It would be very useful for many of the participants on here apparently.

Phfffft! I'm a Richard. In fact, as my four older sisters like to remind me, since I'm also a Junior, that makes me "Little Dick." My great aunts used to call me "Little Dickie," FML. Sometimes I meet random old dudes in public, and they call me a dick, and I don't even know them! I think I've learned how to roll with it. LOL, people who think they're insulting me when they make jokes about my name.

Oh, and I would never mess with my emissions system in California. Just asking for trouble, unless you really are a capable wrencher.
