IMG_3701.jpg IMG_3702.jpg Looking for the part number to replace a couple of bolts that are missing from the plastic cover that gets removed during an oil change. I changed the oil in my 2015 this weekend and noticed a couple are missing. Tried to find a replacement at the local hardware store and couldn’t find an exact replacement.

Damn I literally threw two of those away a few days ago after I trimmed that plastic plate to fit my skid! Don't buy the Toyota part, just get it at the hardware store. You don't need a tapered end.

Ace Hardware will get you set up. Take the one you have and match it, even if it's only close. As long as pitch and length match. Easy. Don't pay extra for the Toyota part. That's silly.

I went to Ace and didn’t find anything that had the same size washer on it as the OEM bolt. I bought a couple of M6 bolts to hold it on for now but my OCD would prefer an OEM bolt lol

The OEM bolt has a shoulder built into the washer that centers the hole in the plastic shield. I’d get the OEM bolt. Dealership parts department can assist you.

OEM part is the best but if you must use aftermarket put split washer same thickness as a plastic there to prevent damage to the cover you are fastening. Regular bolt without spaced shoulder will crush the plastic and ruin your bumper cover.

I had one just break Saturday. One that attaches to the skid plate just snapped.
This made me worry if the previous owner had skipped the filter and diff fluid. After changing those, it’s very possible they did.
I plan to trim the plastic down a bit to negate its removal but still have it direct air properly. Mine is a limited so the extra plastic went into the don’t need pile with my Jeep parts. Lol
I just used the push plug and left off those two bolts since I don’t have time to get that with an easy-out.
