Looking for a slide to go with my Iceco JP40Pro to increase it’s usefulness. Been looking around between Amazon and some of the vendors out there, as well as considering just building one myself.

Once I factor in some high quality slides, I’m nearing the cost of a few of the brand I’ve been looking at and was curious if any of ya’ll are running these and have some feedback/experience. If I build one myself, the accuride slides are $200ish for the main fridge slide, another $100 for the table/cutting board, and then material costs - as well as my time to get it done.

    https://www.tortugaoffroad.com/products/all-new-aluminum-overland-fridge-slide-from-tortuga-off-road $469

https://www.dfgoffroad.com/for-icec...r-iceco-vl60pros-single-zone-dfg-offroad.html (the linked one isn’t for my model of fridge, but I’d sort through their offerings for the best fit) $525

https://www.goose-gear.com/products/solo-fridge-slide-standard-1?variant=41786652033222 $590 (I’m not a huge fan of how the cutting board interfaces on this one, but not enough to ignore it)

https://www.frontrunneroutfitters.com/en/us/cargo-slide-fridge-slide-small-fsli020.html (looks like there are some pins in the tray I’d have to grind down, not a dealbreaker) $399

The amazon offering’s reviews have me concerned even at its $200 price point. I don’t want to deal with hinges failing while I’m out goofing off in the middle of no-where.

I’m specifically looking at the “cutting board” versions to use as a small table for eating off of (standing), using to hold a single burner stove, etc. Unfortunately there isn’t a place I can go check these things out before I buy so I’m hoping some of ya with experience (good/bad/otherwise) don’t mind sharing your $.02.

I bought this one about 6 weeks ago. Seems sturdy enough but haven’t put it through the paces needed to give a complete review yet. It’s cheap enough. Figured I could replace it down the road if I have problems.

The dewalt cases fit perfectly beside it.

The locks came slightly bent due to shipping, so I had them send me a new one and that one was also damaged. So I bent them back myself and works great. The way it’s designed and shipped you can see how they could get damaged easily.

Okay, that’s the one that had me concerned. How stable is the table?

It seems stable. It locks in 2 different positions too.

How did you mount it to the 4Runner to keep it from tilting forward

Pulled the carpet and put rivnuts into a cross member. I thought I took pictures, but I didn't.

The front of the slide/ rear of the 4Runner it’s just resting on the trim piece.

Ended up ordering from Tortuga. Had the features I wanted to include a rather large “table”

what really sold me was emailing him some questions on Saturday night thinking I’d hear back Tues-Wed.
Sunday morning I had a lengthy response addressing everything.
    Can’t beat good customer service.

Slide arrived yesterday and was packaged incredibly well. Zero damage from transit.

Bolted it down at all 8 points with 3/8 grade 8 bolts. Had to open up the holes a little bit to use the larger hardware that I wanted to use, but the aluminum drilled exceptionally easy.

end result is incredibly stable. I’m thrilled with the result.

    Nice! That’s a big table.

I didn’t realize you were bolting into a drawer system.

in all fairness, I never mentioned that part ;)

it’s def not a setup for the vertically challenged folks, might need to pack a step stool for the wife.

I looked at the Ironman as well, but the table was a specific requirement for me.
The tilt would be nice, but I can always retrofit something later.

Used the cooler when running errands today. What a game changer. Keeping groceries cold on a hot day and not having to worry about going straight home.

Well, this whole plan went to crap rather quickly. Had an issue with the cooler, ICECO was great to deal with; ended up with a larger unit, the APL55.

New cooler is a bit wider and doesn’t fit the tray anymore. The depth and overall height are fine. Rather than replace the entire slide I’m going to build a new tray that’s a bit wider to accommodate the APL55.

I do wish I had a tilting option. May figure something out later for that.

I saw those and strongly considered them. If their tilt model offered a "table" option, I'd be all over it. I really, really like that slide out table; use it often.

Right now, if things go as planned I'm going to be out minimal expense to make a new tray for this fridge. I have some metal laying around, so it just costs my time.

Later I'll probably re-visit making it tilt if it becomes a problem. Looking around at other designs it would be pretty easy to do - just time consuming. Too damned hot to worry about that just yet.

Weather finally cooled off and I was able to get this done.

re made the main slide and re-used the other parts. Wish I had the equipment to bend sheet metal, that would have likely been easier.
