At first, only during cold weather would my speedometer start to malfunction. The needle would move erratically and make noise for the first 10 minutes of driving, then work properly. I had the speedometer cable replaced at a shop but the issue persisted. Last year there was a cold snap (-11°F) and I hear a pop while driving and now the needle stays at 0 always. Do y'all think this is an issue with the cable or the instrument cluster in the dash or something else?
    Thanks!

its most likely the cable again. Its fairly likely the shop got complacent and routed the new cable a funky way that kinked it and made it prematurely snap. I don't recall ever seeing a speedometer actually fail but it is possible

Speedometers do fail as mine did. But mine is electronic not cable. I agree it is most likely the cable.

Thanks for the reply! I'd be willing to try the repair myself. I'm going to see if I can find where the cable is breaking and if there's any way to prevent it from happening again. It would be great to tell how fast I'm going without relying on which gear I'm in and the RPM's haha
