I have a 1991 2nd gen and I plan on swapping the engine from the 3.0L to the 3.4L.

As far as I can tell to complete the swap I'll need a wiring harness to hook it up the the transmission as well as parts to move the exhaust, dip stick, ect.

I've found an engine swap kit https://www.yotashop.com/5vz-swap-t...ickup-truck-engine-swap-install-kit-kit-3030/, as well as a harness https://toyonlyswaps.com/product/pl...c-transmission-to-3-4-v6-automatic-2002-2004/. Do I need any other parts besides these and the engine?

I've seen some recommend getting a whole donor vehicle for the swap.

Any other tips or recommendations you guy's have?

I've been reading Offroad Solutions info on this https://www.offroadsolutions.com/tech-info/3-4l-5vz-fe-conversion/, and watching lots of youtube videos but any additional info you guy's have would be greatly apricated. Thanks!

If you're going to go that far and you still have the old R-12 system look at getting a retrofit kit to the new R-134 the previous owner did that on my 3VZE and it is awesome. I've been lurking on Yotashop as well looking to do this exact same thing. What time frame do you have looking at doing this? From what I understand it's not a fast process. I've considered doing this when my engine dies but I would also want to get a pulled 5VZE and set it up with a turbo. Nothing crazy boost wise but I don't know how feasible the turbo part is after replacing the motor might not be enough space.

I would suggest you get a donor vehicle if you have the space for it. Also switch it to a manual transmission I think its much easier for the swap. You can use either clutch I think but you have to use the 3.0 throw out bearing.

For wiring harnesses if you have to make splices do it right or re-pin a connector if needed. It is a nightmare to trace electrical problems.

Just did this exact same swap and didn't require any extra stuff from ORS. Everything you need can be obtained from both engines, especially if you have uncut engine harness from 3.4 donor and ecu.

this video is literally best one out there for this swap.
