Upgraded to iPhone 14plus and now my songs won’t show

I have a 2018 4Runner SR5 4WD with the OEM head unit. It worked just fine when I played and paired my iPhone 8 to it. But now with my 14plus I can’t see the songs in my playlists that I created in Apple Music. I tried deleting the iPhone 14 from the head unit and deleted the 4R from my phones Bluetooth connections, did this a few times. Also created a new playlist on my iPhone 14 with just one song to see if it still would not display the song, but still displays the playlist…same o shit.

Anyone have thoughts on how to remedy this? For what it’s worth, when I go to the “update entune” or whatever it’s called in the head unit settings, that option is greyed out.

Also, it won’t allow or sync my text messages to display them on the head unit. It just spins its wheels when I go to “set up messages” on the head unit. This worked just fine with my iPhone 8.

I had a similar problem in my 2021 and updating the firmware on my OEM head unit to the most current version solved the issue.

I would suggest you check the firmware version and update if you don’t have the current version. You should be able to find instructions in the owners manual for your head unit or on-line.

Thanks. When I went to the link and input the info it says there are no updates when I selected the “no navigation “ option. When I selected “with navigation “ it did display an update. I never use the Entune Navigation and wasn’t sure if the SR5 models had it.

So I went back and took another stab. For whatever reason my songs were not in the playlists themselves on my phone, shrug. But all the songs were still in my library. Luckily my playlists aren’t that big so it wasn’t a big deal to add them back. Did this while the car was running and they synced up in real-time with each addition to the lists.

That kind of thing seems to happen with major updates of the phone audio player. I lose playlists on my Android every couple years.
