Once I received the part from eBay, I think it took 2 minutes! Great information.

 

Installed those tires recently too. Hope to test them out in a couple weeks in Utah.

Finally got around to getting ceramic tint installed. Then I installed my Rado Designs molle panels and shelf. Also installed an OVS 6.5 awning for this summer. Oh and also relocated my GMRS antenna.

 

Got it covered in dirt/dust at the overland expo

Picked her up with 1 (how??) mile on it. Already ordered wheels and tires for it.

 

Vinyl wrapped one side of the roof rails, waiting for another set to be delivered.For the end caps, I am thinking plastidip or paint like another member did few posts earlier.
One more step towards making it chrome free.

 

One mile on the odo and already an almost empty tank....

 

Mine had 1 mile on it too. It was delivered to the dealer the night before I first saw it. I put 2 more on it during the test drive and 3 days later after it was prepped and had a full tank there were 5 miles on it. If you look at the Toyota plant where they are built in Japan you can see they have a port right next to it. I guess they drive them out of the assembly line right onto a ship, bring them where ever they are going, drive them onto a carrier then off into the dealer lot. That's my best guess anyway.

 

They built the island in deep water that the Toyota/Lexus plant is located so they can do just that. drive directly onto the ships. They also have a test track there & every Lexus is driven on, only random 4Runners are driven on the track.

What’s the headlights off behavior though?

 

Exact same as the behavior without the sensor added.

 

Then it won't work. This mod only works when the headlights are turned on. Fully On, not DRL on.

 

Mine had 3 miles on it when delivered to the dealer.

 

Wrapped the TuRD scoop in satin black. Thought it would be more difficult, but even the knifeless tape was simple to use.
Added the offroad TuRD branding... not sure i will keep it.

 

I had a 3inch Bilstein 6112/5160 - normal struts with Dobinsons upper control arms installed by RSG Offroad in Denver. Really happy with the ride quality and not having the front end dip forward every time I brake. Riding with factory SR5 wheels and factory size 265 Duratracs

 

I removed the center console safe and relocated the installed LoJack unit.
My Son said he installed the center console safe in his 2015 with no problem.


The LoJack unit kept falling in the driver's footwell area – not anymore! I learned how to disassemble the lower and upper dash on the driver’s side and then found a convenient spot above one of the vents. A little double-sided tape and a zip-tie to secure it. I did zip-tied the plug in a very accessible area.

 

Damaged my step when I couldn't get around a rock on a trail. It was a fun day though.

 

Drove it for the first time today. Technically half mine, half the wife’s…but I already have a Tacoma.
Trip involved taking it to the neighborhood gas station, filling it up, (1/2 tank = $80.00) and then back home for its first bath.

If I keep mine around 55mph, I can get around 21mpg and it’s on 285/70/17 KO2s. Toyota trucks and gas stations are best friends, either way.

 

With the headlights off, the sensor does not adjust the display brightness. I actually wished it would work that way. e.g. If parked at night (headlights off) with the radio on, the display is too bright. It'd be nice if it switched to night mode.

 

I can get 20 with my 285’s at a constant 55. I have full armor except rear bumper though. Here it is with one of my best friends tonight also.

Edit: the blue and silver flakes in the midnight black metallic really show under bright lights.
