Aftermarket spring on trd pro shocks

Who has aftermarket springs on trd pro fox shocks? Which springs are you using eibach, dobinson, or something else?

Id like to lift the front a little and also stiffen it up a little as well.

 

I sell these from time to time, but they only suit the coils that are flat top and bottom. Fox changed to a pigtail lower at some point in 2021.

Are they stiffen then oem? I'm looking for something to help with the whoops n jumps on the trails. I have the 2019/2020 trd pro shocks so I believe they will work.

I went with the eibach for my 2020 TRD Pro in 2020 and they have been fantastic in every way. Installed the Pro Lift Kit front and back coils part number E30-82-071-03-22

 

If lifted with just springs wouldn't it reduce the down travel of the shocks?
Wouldn't it be better to have a small top hat spacer a better option to maintain the down travel and keep the comfort level?
(This is a question not a statement. Love to learn from the experts.)

 

I haven't really had a chance to measure the front trd shocks, but the rears trd fox shocks are 1" longer then my eibach shocks.

I have top hat spacers I could install for some lift. But I'm wanted to stiffen it up a little, which spacers won't do.

 

On a side note Wescott Design about to introduce new lift that works with TRD Pro Fox which allows to give 3in lift and fit 34in tires (285/75R17). I assume it would be half spacer and half spring preload spacer or a different spring which might tighten the ride. Something to keep an eye and wait for details.

 

Lifting with the springs won't change the "Down" travel of the TRD Pro Shocks, Installing the Spacer or as some call it "top hat" is Not something I would install for true off road driving the spacers are just an inexpensive way to level and get the "Look" and really do not change the load ratio or simply put stiffing the ride very much, the Eibach spring set levels, gives 1.5ish lift and did stiffing the ride some without destroying the comfort level of the drive. the picture is after I installed the coil springs.

 

I have the Eibach's springs on my pro shocks, and I honestly love the ride to it, before I was running the Eibach 2.0 pro truck kit(adjustable), but the OEM Fox shocks with the Eibach springs ride way better imo!! Full disclosure tho, front sway bar is removed and rear sway bar I have the extended sway bar end links.

 

I am thinking of picking these up now for my 2020 TRD Pro because of the BF discount. My only issue is I bought the 4runner used about 2 months ago, and I have ZERO clue if the previous owner updated the struts on that TSB#0094-20 update. Nothing showed up on the CarFax, and it passed a PPI at Toyota with no issues before I bought it. I live in Texas so it’s hard for me to identify the clunking noise due to our warm weather. But since I’ve bought it, I never heard any clunking noise. Is this something a dealer can find out for me by running the VIN?

 

If you can take a pic of your front shocks ( the lower portion of the shocks/springs) and post it on here, we would be able to tell you if their the 2019-2020 models vs. the 21+ models

Does anyone know the extended and collapsed measurements of the Fox trd front shock? Probably the same as the og bilsteins 6112?

 

I am getting mine in March, when they come out for trd pro models specifically for the year 2023. Eibach at Elite Race Fab. Ask for Jerry. I see you have 2020 so you will probably be able to get something right away.

 

Here are the Eibach trd pro lift springs with 285 K02’s. Just make sure you get the right springs (flat or round due to TSB). Highly recommended, no complaints and no rubbing!

 

What does this mean: "flat or round due to TSB"? Are you talking about springs that are terminated so the bottoms are flat (spring perch is flat) vs springs that terminate such that the perch needs a "step" for the spring to sit against?

 

The springs and perches changed. Flat ground spring to round spring and a different perch to match. You can see it here, the flat ground spring is turned a bit so it’s less obvious. Key point is you need to match the correct spring and perch to avoid an issue.

I'm new to this so please be patient with me. I have a 2021 TRD O/R with all stock equipment. Can I install these springs to give me a slight lift or will I have to change other items? part number E30-82-071-03-22

You would have to get different shocks to use these springs, the Off Road model comes with Hitachi Shocks, not Fox Shocks. Also that model of spring you listed is for the 2020 and below model of Fox shocks
