Put up the Christmas tree early. Decorate it tomorrow.

I'm starting to catch up after my 4-week, 6,000 mile road trip that included a couple hundred miles of dirt road and trails. Today I replaced all the wipers, cleaned bug remains off all the forward-facing surfaces, and thoroughly cleaned the undercarriage. Now there's half a pound of UT sand in my driveway. I also picked up an oil filter element, engine air filter, cabin air filter, a fresh tube of grease, and some touch-up paint.

Replaced the passenger side actuator exactly a year after I replaced the drivers side. That excellent Japanese Tahara plant quality is shining through.

Today I pulled and washed the all-weather floor mats, vacuumed the whole interior, and wiped down the whole interior twice with damp rags. It's going to take another round with some mild detergent to really get it clean.

Door lock actuator? Had my 2018 TRD OR purchased new 22-Dec-2018 D/S go out in Oct 2020. Had ext. warranty so cost $0 just time & driving a Chevy pick-up as loaner from dealer.
BTW the Tahara plant doesn't make those components, 3rd party vendor does which I know you're fully aware of & I understand your frustration too!:hattip: & yes Toyota needs to press them on their reliability issues. Never had any issues W/2008 &2012 FJ's or the 2015 Tacoma I owned.

So quick question: I'm needing to trim the front bumper a little bit (wheel well area) with the oversized tires I've got on my lift. Never done this before. I've watched a few vids on HOW to do that, and looks relatively simple. But any pointers from ye olde soothsayers would be much appreciated.

    TIA!

What’s up everyone! I am currently in the market for a 5th gen, found one at a local dealer. 2014 Silver SR5 base with 81k miles for $24,888. Is this a good deal? It looks really clean and completely bone stock. Any advice would be appreciated.

Green auto body tape. Blue painters tape can pull up paint off plastic pretty easily. Green auto body tape is a little easier on paint when you pull it off. It also will help the paint and plastic not gum up and chip as you cut it. Measure twice and cut once FOR SURE! Post it when you are done! Ive cut in a handful of bumpers and it never gets easier! Triple check any directions and resources you have before cutting.

Little more than 2 weeks in. Ceramic 5%tint, remote start, rb20 slim steps, eibach suspension (just struts and shocks) no serious off roading, and trd pro grille treatment. Thinking head unit and speakers next or a set of 285s, suspension guy said they'll fit now

Put on some emblem overlays. I think the c-pillar emblems and the "4Runner" look great. I'm not 100% on the red Toyota logos though.

Sweet looking stance and overall rig! I'm with you on maybe not digging the red stuff though, I'd go black (or dark gray - whatever the other emblem color is)- that looks so great with your primary paint color.

Got tinted with 3M ceramic... tried to stay legal but I think I might bite the bullet and go darker.

Went with 30 front, 50 rears

Debating on getting 70 front and darkening the rear to 20 throughout... keep the fronts at 30

Definitely much cooler in the car now...

Go darker. I did. Sure, I'm rolling illegal as hell, but in Texas I need it to block the heat. The summers last 6 months here!

I am thinking of going 20% on top of my ceramic lol.. so I'll have to talk to the guy at the tint shop .. most of all is I want to keep it consistent between all windows whereas right now I am notice that my fronts are lighter ..

I am going to be in Nevada for the next year so definitely wanna go darker but I don't want to be like my friend who has to roll down his window to make a turn

I have to roll mine down, but only at night on streets that are not well light. During the summer time, it doesn't get dark until almost 8:30-ish PM. My old ass is in inside by then so I don't worry. But in the winter months when it gets dark by 5pm, then yeah, it can suck...sort of.

But you'll adjust and figure it out. The upside is: I have tons of privacy and my truck stays A LOT cooler when it's 109 degree's outside. Plus, it makes the truck look really freak'n cool.
