I looked online at some parts sites for Bilstein 6112’s and they listed only the v6 in the configuration tools, not the 4th gen v8. Can I run 6112’s with the 600lb coil on my v8? I don’t want a lift (maybe set the front clips to give me like an inch to ‘level’ just a little bit).

my ‘04 4Runner is a highway princess, bought it for family road trips. I think the xreas is starting to go so I plan on ripping that out. I just want a really plush smooth ride for roadtrips. I don’t off-road, just haul the family around.

I’ve been researching the 6112/5160 combo and yes it may be overkill compared to just 5100’s all around, but I have 5100’s on my Tacoma and it’s pretty harsh, understanding it’s a truck so I don’t mind though.

anyways I guess my 2 questions are 1. Would the 6112/5160 combo be a good XREAS replacement and 2. Can I use them on a non-lifted 4th gen v8 4Runner?

I wouldn't see why they wouldn't work on the v8.

The 6112/5160 is a great setup and you can run them with no lift(or level). It might stiffen the ride quality up a bit though.

After further research I think I’m going to steer away from Digressive shocks like the Bilsteins. That may be why I think my Tacoma is a little harsh, since it has 5100’s all around.

from here, I’m looking at the Dobinsons IMS and their 1.5” coil upfront and stock height coil in the rear.
