    Firstly i have a 2018 4runner TRD 4WD with a 3 inch lift kit

Hello i need some help with my rack and pinions they were moving right to left so i pulled the bushings out and the metal insert was ovaled really badly,
i replaced the top and bottom ones bushing and sleeves remounted in the rack and pinion and its still moving right to left, and yes it has been torqued,
anyone have any ideas or suggestions what i need to do and or did wrong

Zero experience working on steering racks, but wouldn’t a new rack allow for some side to side movement, within the “squish” range of the bushing? Or is it that it’s exactly as much excessive movement as before?

Maybe some additional details will help the gurus give you some suggestions.

    How many miles?

How does your 4runner get used (Fast off road use? Any sweet jumps? Occasional weekend off-road warrior? Or is it only a street vehicle?).

Have you had any other suspension failures that might at all be related with the rack bushing failure?

Hopefully someone chimes in with some ideas.

Did you press the bushings in? I bought some polyurethane bushings but mine are good still.
