For reference, driven similarly, the GX460 has similar fuel economy (random fact lol).

    Oooh look, another mod.....

I was able to hyper-mile my Tacoma about...2yrs ago? I was driving it back to Fort Worth from Austin. As soon as I hopped on 35 North bound I got behind a semi that I knew was going to Ft Worth. I set my cruise control to match his speed and I stayed about 80ft back. I wanted to test the theory of "Less wind resistance will make MPG's jump up dramatically".

It worked out great for 50 miles, and I saw my MPG jump all the way to 28.8MPG. Now, this wasn't an SR5 Taco or the Limited rolling on street tires. It was the TRD OffRoad (without the air damn) and with off road tires.

When I finally got to Ft Worth and hit the pump to re-fill the tank I calculated my tank miles per gallon. It was around 25.8 MPG.

I averaged nearly 25 mpg over a full tank coming down off the front range last year. It didn't stop me from hating I-70, though.

I had this happen a few months ago, and was shocked when I saw it. I was driving a short distance on back roads.

Mileage will improve as the engine is broken-in.

You want first oil out as soon as possible as it contains lots of metal.

I've got almost 27k miles on mine and just had a tank at 20.02mpg (first tank over 20mpg). How you drive, where you drive and what weather you drive in all make a difference. At 80mph on the highway I'm lucky if I see 17mpg, best mpg for me is 50-55 (back roads). As for the quote below, I disagree with #6. I have never gotten better mpg in any vehicle using cruise control and this one seems worse than most.

Welcome to the forum. Enjoy that while your driving routine is highway. I get 18ish in my daily commute and running to town and back.
