I have a 2016 4Runner. When we bought it, it did not come with the original owner's manual. I am sure it is NOT a TRD, SR5, or LTD. All I can glean from the VIN and the inside door panel is that it is an MPV. I am guessing pretty basic. Online, however, I do not see a 2016 trim called "MPV".
Anyway, I need to replace the tires. They are P265/70R17 (from the inside door panel).
The ones I have are Rivera GT10 RADAR All Season... made in China.
I would like to upgrade to something better, but still "tough" looking (sorry).
I can go to either my local Tire Kingdom, where I have shopped before, or else to Sam's Club.
I live near St Petersburg, FL.

    Any and all suggestions welcomed!

Multi-Purpose Vehicle, or “MPV” is one of many possible classifications, others include “wagon”, “SUV”, “truck” etc. and don’t really apply to your 4Runner specifically.

The trim level is sometimes labeled on the C pillar exterior but I guess it doesn’t have anything there. But for tire choice, you can just punch in SR5 since that’s the usual fitment. (assuming you have original wheels)

For a more aggressive look without much expected moderate+ off-road shenanigans I’d suggest the BFG Trail-Terrain.

My 4runner came with P265/70R17 also. I went with Cooper ST MAXX in 235/80R17 and really like them. Same height, only 9 inches wide so no rubbing issues and look awesome. [The 265/70 is 31.85 tall by 10.7 wide, the 235/80 is 31.8 tall by 9 wide]. The Coopers are aggressive and QUIET.

If you’re looking for a more “mild” all terrain, I’d recommend the following. I have friends and family who’ve ran these and have spoken well of them. They’re more street oriented yet do well in the rain and snow.

    Cooper AT3
    Hankook dynapro AT2
    Falken wildpeak AT Trail
    Goodyear workhorse AT

for a more aggressive all terrain, you really can’t go wrong with the tried and true bfg K02, Falken Wildpeak AT3W, or Toyo AT3

What do you mean by "no rubbing issues"?

The Cooper AT3's have very thin sidewalls, if off-roading at all I would not recommend. Great street tire though.

No off-roading.. I just like the look of some of these AT tires.
