I’m possibly buying a 2024 ORP in a few weeks. No matter what it will be black. IMO the black alloy wheel upgrade makes it look better on all colors, but I’m torn on whether it looks better or not on the color black. Black & silver ALWAYS looks awesome!! But then again that black on black look is pretty bad ass too, and is growing on me. What do you think looks better?

Get the regular silver off-road wheels, then go with something different. Try bronze, gold, gunmetal, etc.

X2 for the TRD Off-Road rims. Power coat it black and go for the Darth Vader look

I went through the same process myself, however mine is Magnetic Gray. I decided to keep the silver off-road wheels for a little while, but they have grown on me and I don't think I'm going to replace them now. The silver ones are free, so run them for a while and make a decision in a few months.

A couple of bonuses for the off-road wheels are protected valve stems and they are half inch wider than the black TRD Wheels.

I do agree the off-road wheels look badass powder coated black.

I don’t think I can go wrong with either. Might just flip a coin lol. Jack Tatum and Howie Long would choose silver on black.

Go ORP and get them powder coated. Mine have held up great since 2019.

It’s all personal choice but personally I feel silver on black is a nicer look.

If you plan to keep it a long time I think silver on black will stand the test of time and be a classic look. But that’s just my opinion we all have different tastes.

Silver does look awesome. My options are very limited, only two. Although black rims cost more it’s also true in my situation that they come with running boards, which I love…and the silver comes with KDSS and Predator steps. The Predator steps would be totally useless for me…the KDSS is something that my opinion has flipped on (from wanting it to not wanting it, which is a whole different story). Getting the Predator steps would probably lead to me buying rock sliders. But running boards MIGHT prevent me from even buying them.

Just search locally for businesses that do powder coating. Call them up and ask if they do wheels. That's all I did. I think there are a couple national chains that do them, but the locally owned shops usually offer better pricing and quality. This was back in 2019, but I paid $75 per wheel for gloss black, and $25 for them to paint the center caps black. I popped out the Toyota badges and painted and clear coated those myself with the overlayed badge kit I bought. You may have to source another shop to paint the center caps, but really those wouldn't be hard to scuff, hang and spray in the garage either.

If I had a bug up my butt and redid them I'd consider bronze. Those look pretty sweet on the black 4Runners as well. I'm just not a silver or chrome guy.

Ok, so I have a black '23 ORP, had the stock wheels that came with it. Just replaced them with FN wheels f(x) pro in dark gloss gunmetal (which everyone thinks are black) and it looks great. I'll try to post a pic after lunch. (sold my wheels to a coworker who has a red '15 SR5 to recoup some money). Something else to consider is potential for rubbing although I will say, 17x8 wheels with 0mm offset really change the stance from the 17x7.5, +15mm offset oem wheels.

Lots of people run the TRD Pro wheels but technically they aren't wide enough for 285's (but again, lots of people do it). And I think if you get them as an option at delivery you end up paying more than if you buy them after the fact (They're like a $1700 option but you can buy them separately for like $250 each and then sell your TRD OR wheels for 3-400).

    Silver wheels ftw.

I regret going with black TRD wheels because
-The dealer charged a ton for them
    -They're very common
-Too narrow for 285's (albeit a technicality)
    -INCREDIBLY HARD TO CLEAN WELL

seriously I had to buy special matte wheel cleaner to keep brake dust from turning those things yellow after a year.

Gray/silver rims FTW. A black car is hard to keep clean to begin with, black rims can be hell with gray brake dust.

IMG_7671.jpg Not about color, but wheel choice. I have had both the Pro and the Off-Road wheels. Way happier with the Off-Road's offset. No rubbing at all with more aggressive stock size tires. The Pro wheels always rubbed at full lock in reverse.

Stock TRD Offroad wheels look better than the pro bro wheels IMO. but also black wheels on a black vehicle is meh.

The pro bro wheels are so played out on just about everything.

Say what you will...I see far more TRD Off Road wheels around here though...at night they look black...some people think they do during the day.
