i know in the manual it says Molybdenum-disulfide lithium base chassis grease for the yoke, and lithium based NGLI No. 2 for the spider, but i am not sure if i should get the MobilGrease XHP 222 or the Amsoil NLGI #2. saw reports that the Amsoil one is better because it has more Moly, but im not sure its lithium based. thank you !

Yep. I did the same on Friday. Lucas is the brand for Red N Tacky for those that don't know.

Usually water based is best for the shaft, some others prefer oil based. Only problem is oil based is harder to wash off.

Another vote for green grease. If you're lubing your prop shaft it doesn't really matter you're already ahead of the game

NLGI #2? Everywhere I've read it's NLGI 1.5 Does it even matter?

I just grabbed whatever NLGI#2 was on the shelf at Home Depot. (manual says it works for everything on the driveshaft so)

Seems like 2wd would have 3. Front/rear universal joint + slip joint.

Amsoil is calcium-based, not compatible with the lithium grease already in the parts: https://www.amsoil.com/p/amsoil-100-synthetic-multi-purpose-grease-glc/

I use Castrol Pyroplex Blue NLGI #2 because it happened to be available in my local big box store when I went there.

The Mobil XHP 222 is a synthetic grease, and is really good on upper control arms with poly bushings, it will prevent squeaking and creaking of poly parts. NGLI 2 grease will work well on the U-joints and slip yokes.

^Saliva isn't strong enough to prevent viscosity and thermal breakdown. When you're 12 hours into shooting a scene, insist on only genuine Toyota P/N 08887-01206.
