I been dealing with a misfire code on cylinder #5 for the last couple of months. I changed fuel injector it stayed off for about 300 miles, changed all coil packs and plugs, stayed off for about 500 miles . Spark plug wires were replaced last year. I’m sure this problem has been discussed on this forum before but this is my first 4runner. 02 3.4 . Anybody got any suggestions .

I guess this forum is not quick on reply’s or suggestion. Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

is there a legit misfire at any time? That's the key, knowing when it's misfiring.

Only on start, car warm. OK how long has it sat for this to happen? and doe it happen after a cold soak as well? My thoughts are leaning toward a cylinder head gasket leaking coolant into the cylinder, but lets not get there just yet. Have you been losing coolant at all? Only possibilities are spark fuel and head gasket leak, move the coil to like cylinder 1, and the move the plug to cylinder 3, just to be sure the misfire won't follow. If the misfire doesn't follow and you want to be extra sure swap the injector with another cylinder to see if it follows then. The only other giant maybe is an intake gasket leak, which you can use propane, or brake parts cleaner and spray around the intake gaskets, but that requires some kind of scan tool which streams live data. I don't think it's an intake leak because you haven't mentioned any lean codes, so worth a check, but I wouldn't dig too deep into that.
