Bought with head removed. Trying to fix all the wires cut under the hood because some idiot didn't know how to unplug them! Like 40 fixed still more.
I've searched everywhere but can't seem to find my answer. I bought a 97 4Runner with 2.7 l engine that had the head removed for $500. Truck has 160,000 miles on it has one minor dent and the interior is clean. My problem is that the person I bought truck from had removed the head due to burnt valve. After getting head back from machine shop and started to reassemble, I noticed the guy literally cut every plug off rather than disconnect it.

I've pretty much got 98% of it reconnected (used about 40 butt connectors). I'm having trouble locating wires for #4 injector. At the center of firewall on engine side where the wires for #2 & #3 injector wires come out of the loom, there is a set of wires that look like brn/blk and a white or yellow wire. What are these for? And can anyone tell me exactly where to look for all the injector wires where they exit the loom to the injector. Would like to get this thing running.

I can't seem to identify these wires on any schematic I find. They exit just behind the head.

OK I figured it out. What I thought was BRN/Blk and white or yellow was actually a really faded pink. EGR sensor. Literally had to dig out the harness to expose the #4 injector wires. I cut about 2 inches of wire loom to expose the wires. The end of the wires insulation looked "stretched", like they were ripped out by forcefully being pulled on. I hope after i reinstall the intake and new vac hoses and water hoses, as they are brittle and crumble at any movement (all original). all goes well with no more surprises. Has the original radiator which is getting replaced as well.

She had been sitting in a garage for many years. Still think for what I'm into it I got a good deal. $500 purchase price + $700 for valve job, gaskets and head bolts.
I'm into it for $1,200.00 with 160k 1 minor dent and paint/interior is close to like new condition. I'll post a pic of it cleaned up when its running, or a pic of it burning if it does not =P Definately the last time I buy something taken apart. She better run lmfao
