This video kinda made me consider a LC in a few years instead of a new 4Runner. I also saw an image with the seats down that made it look like if I created a little platform like I did in my 5th gen I'd maybe be able to still sleep flat in the back but I have to look into that a bit more.

Not sold on the new LC. It broke too easy in those dunes.

yeah but i dont blame him. 90-95% of the people that buy a sequoia are not going to off road it or see dirt vs the 4R, LC, Taco

and the sales of a sequoia probably wont even match any of those models by maybe 10%

most of his viewers and personally myself could care less about a sequoia or any videos about it. its an extreme niche vehicle and toyota pretty much ruined it with that rear cargo setup. in over a year i have seen 2 or 3.

he probably realized he is not getting any views on his sequoia vids and probably decided its not in his interest to keep it vs a taco or new 4R

I think it’s better looking than the 4R, but there isn’t much else to make me want it over a 4R when you look at what’s missing for the price.

Although... Ahmed AKA "The Car Care Nut" isn't thrilled about the V6 i-Force though. But, he's in love with the I4 i-Force.

But I agree, for the price, the GX is best. However, I am in love with the 6th gen 4R.

from what i have seen of the sequoia, the battery pack hump is the worst on any toyota model. its like double the height vs any other model.

especially since the 4R and the LC250 LC version is practially the same. only diffs is height is about 5 in taller in the LC, but width is the same, clearance is 9.2 on the 4R and LC is 8, 4R is longer because of 3rd row option (but the wheelbase is the same between both), approach is about the same but the departure is like 24 on 4R vs 14 on the LC.

Depends on where they are measuring clearance. Lift just makes the frame/body sit a little higher unloaded - it improves approach/breakover angles but it doesn't move the rear differential and that is usually whats hanging the lowest.

The tires on the new LC are nearly 33s, so assuming its still using the same rear axle the clearance to the diff has to be BETTER by at least a half inch compared to a 5th gen which is rolling on 31.5s stock. So somebody needs to get under there with a tape measure when these things hit dealer lots oand find out what point is hanging down the lowest. It might be some part of that front plastic air dam that's easily removable for all we know. or maybe its clearance to side steps that can be swapped for high clearance sliders.

It's harder to compare minimum ground clearance between unibody/all-independent-suspension and BOF/solid axle vehicles.

In the former, it's pretty much all you have to work with before you start scraping more sensitive things while in the latter, it's usually up to the rear differential or something less expensive and you still have more margin for error.

Since the Land Cruisers are actually hitting dealer lots as we speak, somebody needs to get to the bottom of the ground clearance questions. To me, that’s perhaps the biggest turn-off of the LC250 vs the higher end trim 6th Gen 4R. I prefer the styling, full-time 4WD, it shares the exact same motor, but has much better headroom. It’s more or less the same price as the TH or TRD Pro 4R but based on paper specs, has possibly 8” of clearance vs 10.7” (9.2” +2” or 1.5” for top end 4R trims) with 33” tires on it. That’s a meaningful difference in terms of clearance.

Right now it seems like Toyota released a totally overlapping set of cars but we need to remember that if and when a TRD Pro or Trailhunter Land Cruiser gets released, it will be a $15-20k more expensive vehicle than the same trim 6th Gen 4Rs. They are definitely higher in the pecking order and that’s getting somewhat lost in the way they are releasing them right now. Maybe those higher end trims of the Land Cruiser offer some sort of hybrid iForce Max 6 cylinder to further differentiate?

This is my next rig! When the markups go away...they are marking up from $10-20K in my area. I wish they did an order type system like Ford did with the new Broncos.

Additional Lift height does not increase ground clearance, only tire size will increase it.

the lc250 wont encroach on the lexus engines. toyota did away with that way back when the 4R had the same v8 as the old gx470's.

they will always reserve the best engines for the lexus brand to get people to upsell.

edit: this goes out the window once you get into the 200 series LC since its a true land cruiser, not this mini LC (250 series)

I test drove the Base 2024 LC this weekend.
They had a few sitting onsite looking for buyers.
    Probably rejected by the depositors.
    Priced $65 - $76k.
Not thrilled with the design both interior and exterior. Just my 2c though.

I watched his first Sequoia video a couple days ago. It sounded like he was trying to talk himself into wanting it. He said he needed something that could carry a lot of passengers but still do real off-roading. I think it has the former covered, but even at the beginning, it didn't seem to me like it would satisfy him off-road.
