    hi all
roof rack removed 2 days ago, today i attempted to install the kit to seal off existing cavities. ran in to some issues and have some questions / issues to float out.

the front passenger side was stripped of the plastic casings, so the replacement screws wont fit. see the attached photos.

what silicone is best? does it need to be anaerobic rather than RTV?

on the front spaces, the gap is uneven. the driver side is 4 inches wide, which doesn’t allow the bracket to fit. the passenger side is 4.5 inches. thoughts there?

only 1 of the 4 clips fits tightly enough. am i missing something?

    appreciate the help.

In your 2nd picture, where the white pieces are not there, they've fallen into the headliner. You'll need to drop the headliner to get them back in place.

The delete kit you're using, is it meant for the FJ Cruiser? I don't think there is an official delete kit for 4Runner but I could be wrong?

When removing the OEM bolts go a little at a time due to the bracket under the headliner can fall in and looks like that happened. As Tooly said above, gotta take the headliner down to put it back in place. The Toyota kit I used on mine worked perfect. I used 3M Marine 4200 sealant. Torqued the new bolts to 13 ft/lbs and snapped the covers on. Cleaning the bases took longer than installing the kit!

I just did this a few weeks back. The bolt brackets all stayed up for me. I used some E6000 glue/sealant ect all around the white plastic trim and into the bolt holes torque down and left cure. So far no leaks and no issues noted. The kit I got was from Toyota for the rav4. The trim covers are left and right side dependent and the arrows do not face forward left and right. If I remember the driver face forward and the passenger face rearward. The arrows are indications on where to push to remove the covers.
