Interested in hearing opinions on wind noise for multiple rack systems. Considering Sherpa but there's so many brands it's hard to choose. Would like solid (500+) static load rating. Likely a tent to come later but I also have other scenarios where I need to carry a good amount.

    Any insight is appreciated. Thanks!

Used to have a basket. Could hear it sometimes. Now I have a Prinsu rack. I rarely hear it, depends on the direction of the wind at interstate speeds. I also just turn the radio up. Just look for the racks that aren't so verticle. Something like a Gobi rack would be noisier

I know Victory 4x4 makes an additional wind fairing just for rooftop tents. I don't know if anyone else does something similar

OE rails with no crossbars is clearly the quietest.

    A work in progress.....
I added 3rd cross bar with basket and it was noisy. I added wind deflector in front of basket and noise gone.

If you get one with open channels on top, my prinsu did, you can get inserts to fill any unused gap and that will cut down on noise too. I actually just used clear packing tape and that worked too

Westcott Designs low profile has zero noise. Built to last and customer service is some of the best you will ever find! Family owned and made in house. Highly recommend.
