Something running at night making noise...

My 2021 4runner TRD OR was making a humming/vibration sound last night in the middle of the night. I noticed it when getting in through the front door to get something. Didn't even put the key in to start it or anything. Went to the rear hatch and it sounded like the noise was coming from under the vehicle at the rear like maybe a fuel pump or?? Was that the fuel pump or what??? Battery was just fine the next morning. I was expecting the battery to be DOA.

I swear I have heard something from my 4runner too. 2024. Maybe it is crying because it knows the end is near ??

 

EVAP test as mentioned in the manual.

 

Ha! I knew it! They had to be involved. My rig has been quiet at night since I called Toyota and had them shut down my DCM-based data sharing.

and then I slept soundly...

 

It is sending out a beacon to locate the nearest fuel station.

 

Gets me every night during my nightly bowl when I went to the office 5 hours earlier.

 

Mine is loud AF. Does it 5 hours after cutting the car off.
